I was going to say you’ll have to make your own neeeooow noise. Then I had a sad thought, in a couple of generations time, if one were to go ‘neeooow’ etc to imitate a car , children may not understand what an earth the noise is about.
Like the noise of dial up internet, or the GSM ‘dumdidumdidum’ noise speakers used to make before a phone rang or a text came in.
And don’t forget the sound of loading a spectrum/commodore vic 20 game.
I’ve just realised that doesn’t happen anymore
Same. I feel old
Apparently technology moved on quickly enough to kill it off, it was never supposed to happen. You don’t miss it until it’s pointed out, but it was a big part of life.
In one episode of the Office it was how Jim realised Dwight had put a recording device in the duck he had given him. Kids today wouldn’t understand that reference at all.
What cyclists? The people I am referring to are those who are just mooching around their cars on the road and where you would normally hear a real car, the EVs are silent. I think they should have a sound system that produces noise akin to noise that an engine would make in relation to their size and or type.
The silent ones that are smaller than cars…
I’ll be more clear:
Stop, LOOK, listen.
Anyone who gets run over crossing the street has failed that second part.
The car isn’t to blame, it will be a combination of pedestrian and driver.
The silence of EVs is a problem, yes it comes down to the drivers but they are probably being so smug and pious to worry. As a pedestrian yes you have a responsibility but in the cold light of day the driver is going to be the one considered as being at fault and at the very least get penalised by their insurers.
Yet again you undermine your own argument.
Anyway… Happy thread, so let’s move on.
One of my cadets has passed the PGSC, she’s only the 8/9th female to do so.
The Bader help Desk.
Emailed them with an Ultilearn account issue last night at 9pm.
At 10am I received an email telling me it had been resolved.
That’s pretty awesome! Thank you help desk staff!
Sounds like a good result after the recent email that came out from helpdesk.
Guess it really is moving forward.
That’s awesome.
Credit where credit due!
Staff planning meeting before we kick off next week. We’ve tipped over the 100 cadet mark in the RAF section and still have one school to confirm recruit numbers. Means we didn’t have to make hard decisions in promotions due to having enough cadets.
Does that mean Sqn Ldr Farmerdan soon?
No thank you.
Emma Raducanu getting into the US Open Final, absolutely outstanding. The way she seems surprised that she wins a matches at this level is a delight, she must know she is a talented player. I only hope the occasion doesn’t affect her like it seemed to at Wimbledon.
Win or lose a truly outstanding performance.
Full provider awarded straight away at Paddlesport Leader provider orientation with no action plan. Win.
Two days of rescues means I now feel like I’ve been run over by a bus though…
I found the hardest thing with my PSLA recently was the fact I hadn’t done any rescues for over a year.
I couldn’t climb back in my prospector solo either. I did manage it with the Firefly, but it was a massive effort!
