You know what really makes me happy?

Hopefully that effing song not being played everywhere for a while. (Hopefully never, as it’s clearly a jinx.)

At least England beat Germany so we won’t get (hopefully) all the crap if we have to play them in the WC.

Anything above “I suppose so” is a bonus.

Good luck and enjoy yourself!

The essentially abandoned car which has been parked outside our house for the best part of a year, in a street where parking is at a premium, going today!

Get out there with some cones to bag the space.

Even better.
Park a 1 car, car carrier.
Every time you want a space right outside your house. Just park on the car carrier…
:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The parking is only at a premium because people use the road as a dumping ground for unwanted cars it appears, if every car was actually being used, it wouldn’t be a problem.

That annoys me!
My neighbours has 5 cars for a family of 4 and a half converted campervan. The campervan has been parked on the drive for 3 years and never moved and they have a SORNed car is parked on the roundabout at the end of the cul-de-sac
All the rest are on the pavement and street in front of the house.

I know the car was reported to the Dvla this week

Dunno if it makes me happy or not but finally got my DBS back today, messaged OC this morning asking how long before I am no longer suspended on the system and if I could get my details to log in, only for them to message back 5hrs later only saying: You need to do BPSS

So no mention of when I will be active on the system or even any mention of how I get my hands on the BPSS form, is it posted, on its way or is it an email job that can be done online. It’s like pulling teeth with that idiot :grimacing:

It beggars belief that your OC or WHQ hadn’t already got you started on the BPSS while you waited for your DBS to come back!

As for what to do, email your WHQ and ask them as I’m guessing from what you’ve said you don’t have SPOL access at the moment.

Make an appt at Wing to do it, that’s what we did. We we get snot mails that staff haven’t done it. It is amazing that your OC hasn’t been reminding you.

Even if you’d done the BPSS the DBS has to be copied, signed by the CO to say it’s real and sent to Wing by post and then wait for them to enter it on to the system, as we OCs haven’t been considered competent enough to do it for years.

Depends on Wing, mine wants the original, not any copies posted, so saves a step of needing it to be certified there, even if it is wildy infuriating.

@DontCallMeSir sounds silly but when you do the BPSS, remember to handwrite it. I remember having to ask people to redo my references as they’d typed them. And scan a copy of it all for your records and retain post receipts and any emails from Wing relating to it. Earlier this year I was told I hadn’t completed it, cue being able to show emails from them saying thanks and also say yes I had, you’ve seen it, here it is again.

And yes, I’m very aware at how overkill that seems but a necessity in this organisation!

Edit, didn’t see this is the make me happy thread. What makes me happy is it’s my last day in my current job!
