You know what really makes me happy?

Krona has been crap of recent

Oh we are going to aim for a delivery.
Three beds, a sofa and ancillary rubbish is a nightmare for just me.

But it’s pretty much the left butt cheek of nowhere so it might be a bit difficult to get to.
I mean, this is the centre of the village, one road is direct to the house, the other is the main route to it. So may be slightly difficult for large trucks…

I’m sure it won’t be the first time that IKEA have had that problem in Sweden - & I doubt there will be a warehouse-full load covering other residents, so hopefully they will plan the truck size accordingly (& probably a good idea to speak with them about the delivery road logistics).

My only form of transport, my bike, stopped working. I was pedaling but the wheels weren’t always turning as a result.

Turns out my freehub had failed. Given that I thought I had a freewheel and not a freehub I was a little surprised. Certainly didn’t know how to solve the issue.

A few YouTube videos, a couple of hours of playing around and a few new parts and I’ve managed to fix it all by myself! Total cost of around Ā£40 instead of the hundreds that it would have cost to go through the mechanics - and I have functioning transport again!

Helping cadets learn new skills

And catching up with friends in the Corps

A good day :grinning:

First ā€œproperā€ RAD today. Challenging but nice to get people from across the region together

Had a lovely visit from a cdt FS from ā€œdown southā€ tonight along with a relative and sibling who’s looking for the right squadron when they move north.

Lovely opportunity to exchange some ideas on how and why other units do certain things and even sent them away with some radios.

Always nice to meet people who do the same, but a little different.

3 days from VA submission to Complete on the workflow…

Amateur… under 3 hours is my record

The best part is you don’t send it to a black hole with no feedback to wait and see if some money appears at end of month.

I’m at 5 hours currently.
It really is a huge leap forwards compared to the F80’s or F80e’s

I made an error (wrong paid rank) and it was corrected without being bounced.

It’s awesome.

Access Denied

Your organization’s policies prevent you from seeing the content on this site.

It’s been a long time coming, but glad it’s finally here. Proper central document access for cadets and staff alike. No having to download stuff all the time to share with our MOI Cadets, or those who want to self study.

Very impressed with the NHS today!

I had a three-phase bone scan booked in for 0930. The paperwork said I’d be in for 15 mins, then can leave for 3-4 hours, and come back for an hour. So I was expecting all sorts of delays and messing about. But quite the opposite today.

Turned up at 0925. Was seen straight away and informed the tracer would be here at 0930. Bang on 0930 it gets delivered, put in my arm, quick primary scan and all done. In and out in half an hour. Told to come back at 1240. So back to work for a few hours. Back in at 1235, again, seen straight away, into the SPECT/CT thing within 5 mins of arrival. All done and dusted in under an hour!

Now to see how long results take :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, amusingly, I’m now radioactive for a week. I’ve been told if I go through airport security, I might set off some alarms :joy:

I generally go through a pair of Altbergs every 18 months…

I’m loathed to try other boots, as I know Altbergs don’t give me blisters etc…

Rather than buy yet another pair of brand new boots, I thought I’d give the re-soling service…

Just got them back today - and they’ve done a lovely job admittedly - but… the sole pattern has been changed to their new ā€œanti slippy, more grippyā€ sole…

While it looks rather ally, my Neurodivergent ā€œismā€ has been well and truly triggered… ā€œNEW / DIFFERENTā€ = SCARY!

Didn’t get them back in time to try out at Sandbach this weekend - but they look nice and clean and well buffed!

When they are on your feet, you can’t see them!

Very nice visit to Coningsby today, including 41 Sqn.

Managed to see the Lanc before she departed to Duxford for 2 yrs of deep maintenance!

The ACLO is an ex-cadet from our part of the woods & was very helpful.
