You know what really makes me happy?

Looking foward to air bnbing it from you

Went to the turkish barbers in the village this morning.

Turns out they are German-Turkish and manage to maintain the whole 45 min covo in German. 1100+ days of duo lingo has paid off

Took part in volunteering for the London Sheep Drive along Southwark Bridge today.

What a fantastic (and quirky) tradition of the City of London.

But still have six months until property take over, as I have about 6 total weeks not deployed between now and then.

Got to enjoy the little things…

If i did that my dad would have beat me so hard

Was he really good at Knock Knock Ginger?

Our council have kindly taken down all the passive aggressive flags that Nigel F fastened to just about every lamp post and have replaced them all with poppies :slightly_smiling_face:

Got ā€˜em. I’d like to see them argue with that.

And they will just put the flags back up.

What exactly is ā€œpassive aggressiveā€ about the national flag? I didn’t find the Spanish and Portuguese flags ā€œpassive aggressiveā€ on my recent visit to those countries.

It’s not about the flag being up, it’s about why it’s up, but I think you know that.

You’d hope, but, following recent interactions, I’m not so sure…

If people don’t like seeing our national flag, there are plenty of countries they could go to where there either aren’t any or where they’re only flown at diplomatic posts.

See? Oblivious.

House has now been officially ā€œsoldā€ to us.
Managed to wrangle it so we don’t have to deal with it this winter and we shall ā€œtake overā€ from April next year.

So flights booked for April to sort the house out!

Unfortunately, can’t take the kids out of school, so a solo trip for me to sort out the furniture we are going to order.
Be a shame to take it over on my own, but looking forward to going back.

I guess that you will have to order from nearest large town or on-line?

IKEA prices used to be very competitive if you bought in Sweden but haven’t followed SEK exchange rate.

Be doing an online order from IKEA. Nearest one is a three hour drive away. But i am renting an estate car so if it need to i can drive there and pick up the remaining bits.
As for the nearest large town… That’s about two hours away.
Exchange rate is going up a bit, so might transfer our funds into the missus svensk konto sooner rather than later or we will be a bit out of pocket.

What are their delivery options? Might be worth spending a few SEK rather than a 6 hr return trip.
