Or shave it off when shes asleep?

Then youā€™ll never need to worry about it again

GMG - I have some kind of intermittent slow puncture of sorts. Garage couldnā€™t find anything so re-sat the tyre and got a new valve. Itā€™s flat as a pancake this morning!

I may have against my better judgement gotten into a row with some muppet online about the killing of Jean Charles De Menezes, after proving that Cress made the right decision with a tragic outcome said muppet actually agreed with me.

But apparently she still shouldā€™ve been sacked for it, god I hate people so much!

If not for that, then many of her other issues, sheā€™s been pretty dire.

Itā€™s interesting the external perspective, the front line view her as easily the best Commissioner since Condon by a long chalk.

The most recent issues all predate her appointment as Commissioner but are somehow her fault.

The establishment hate her and have been trying to get rid of her from day 1. The left donā€™t like her because of De Menezes and the right donā€™t like her because she wasnā€™t the lapdog who was going to assist in the privatisation of policing like Hogan-Howe and Sir Tom Windsor.

The, erā€¦ Whatā€™s that youā€™re saying? Those words are an unpleasant thought.

Never gonna happen.

I can think of a million reasons.

Cost being the first.

Then our unspoken rule of law enforcement by our equals with knowing permission of society.

Not law enforcement by a private corporation oit to make a quick buck.

Private prisons have been chugging along without mass protest for yearsā€¦

Theyā€™ve already successfully privatised prisons, forensic services, the vehicle garages and cad pounds.

They then cut budgets and 20,000 cops devastating community policing and leading to companies like this being on the rise.

Itā€™s the standard government privatisation route, make cuts so that government agency is failing, then your lates can swoop in with a private alternative.

Successfully?

They successfully privatised it. What happened after then is anyoneā€™s guess

In the case of prisons success means ā€˜made it someone elseā€™s problemā€™

I.e. all of ours, when the reoffending rates remain ridiculously high, but the public still think ā€˜prison worksā€™ because every minister whoā€™s reached the opposite conclusion gets quickly reshuffled, and the new one spouts the same old line.

Iā€™ve got no problem with the idea that prison works, purely in that it keeps the bad guys away from everyone else. I donā€™t expect it to reform properly, certainly not with a pointless 4 week sentence.

The real issue is in youth justice where we have probably swung too much the other way, education and reform are needed in most cases, but for others a proper shock early on could be whatā€™s needed to adjust behaviour, but they system doesnā€™t do it. (14 year olds being given a cuddle from YOT when they have committed offences that would see an adult get many years inside GMG to keep us on topic).

In my experience, the proportion of people who need to be locked up to protect others is a very small proportion of the ones we actually lock up.

Parents who ask if you can assure them that their child wonā€™t be taught by a gay instructor. Why do these people still exist?
