You know what really grinds my gears? The Gears Strike Back

Instead of watching the England game on my birthday I’ve been dragged to a first birthday party. I hated kids parties as a child, I detest them now.

Won’t know what’s going on, won’t remember it.

First parties are for the parents… Its a chance to show the child off.

They won’t know what’s going on, and what it’s all about. Except they get some nice pictures of them falling asleep with cake all over their face, all ready to embarrass them at their future wedding.

Just seen BBC weather says it’s going to be 28C for me at work tomorrow. I think I actually will melt…

I’ll be driving home for about 4 hours

I hope for your sake you have working air con in the car! I think fuel consumption goes out the window when it’s this hot :joy:

She has the air con, even in the winter

They won’t turn off the heating at work… or it’ll never come back on again.

Where do you work that it can’t be turned off?! The sun?!

Jokes aside the machinery I work around normally put’s the temperature up a good few C above the ambient outside temperature. Thank god for Klean Kanteen and lots of ice…

Sounds like any MOD building I’ve ever been in…

(err, edit, that was actually meant to be a joke, but I’ve just seen from your bio you are actually an MOD CS!)

Old Navy 1980s building with a suspicious lack of asbestos. There used to be a few air conditioning units on the roof but after the strong winds a few months back they appear to have migrated north.

I dunno if this will make you feel better or worse, but this photo was taken in the Cairngorms at about 1130 this morning! (sent to me by a mate) :fog: :fog: …and then it rained pretty heavily apparently!

I managed to go climbing for the first time in a long time today so I’m happy anyway :stuck_out_tongue:
Let’s just say I can’t climb like I used to. And I was never very good anyway :grimacing: :joy:

I’m glad I wasn’t flying today (colleagues photo)- it’s not comfortable in a C152 (or even worse a PA28) in these kinda temperatures with ■■■■■■ all cloud cover!

I did what I thought was the most sensible thing and found a river (in @big_g’s territory!) that wasn’t a total scrapefest, the advantage being that when you get too hot you can just roll to cool down  - I’m sure @redowling will agree! (although I then did run the shuttle back up to my car, which may have been a bit of a mistake…)

Indeed. Unfortunately I was Lowland Leadering this weekend which was uncomfortably warm. Paddling session tomorrow for a unit so there shall be lots of falling in then.

Which river??

The one which goes through the biggest city in your Wing  (although we did one of the upper stretches of it)
