You know what really grinds my gears? The Gears Strike Back

New IBN 16 says new security brief released, which must be viewed every year. ACTO 99 says security brief needs refreshing every 2 years. Can they pick one and stick with it please?

Noticed the new one on ultilearn last night whilst setting up my new CIs to complete it, ball ache if it’s every year now… Need to be heading down the minimised training approach instead of more

Surely security is security… once you have been briefed that’s it right
??

Where’s it say every year?
All I can see is

completed by all CFAV within 12 months of its introduction

and

The new brief will be valid for a period of 3 years from its introduction

The IBN says it must be completed within 12 months by all staff, but then once it is done it’s valid for 3 years. I believe this is to keep it in line with other courses like Safeguarding. I think the Health and Safety courses should be going that way too at some point.

The How To Guide has been updated and I believe ACTO 99 is waiting to be updated too.

Security isn’t a dirty word

I interpretted that as the security course itself will be reviewed in 3 years to ensure it’s up-to-date, rather than Staff were valid for 3 years.

Yep. My bad. I read that as “do it every 12 months”. As you were.

Difference between

from introduction

And

from completion

…Words matter.

You would expect it should mean “redo every 3 years” and if that is how it should be interpreted then I think it’s a case of writer/proofer approaching from the perspective of knowing.

Unless, of course, if you wait the permissable 12 months then you only get 2 years’ currency

Crevice is

:man_facepalming:t2:

So in 2000 everything was fine, didn’t have to worry about going to see the pilot on your holiday flight to Spain.

Come a year later it all changed…

Things are constantly changing, depending on world and local events.

Yes good point.

Annual vs tri annual is a big difference however.

I don’t have an issue with people doing this (and safeguarding) annually. But agree the requirements should be crystal clear.

Grinding my gears. Allegedly the iPhone thinks I’ve filled the 64gb so need to part with a thick wedge of cash for a bigger one or whatsapp etc will hold me to ransom every 5 minutes.

Back up your photos/meme collection to your computer and then delete from the phone

Will do, think I also need to cut back on some of the music too!

Also make sure you make it so WhatsApp doesn’t auto save photos to your phone. That seems to fill up my phone pretty quickly from group chat memes!
