You know what really grinds my gears? The Gears Strike Back

Glad to hear it’s not just me. I’ve been struggling for a while for all qual pages including staff.

New cadets not being given ultilearn accounts. How do we contact IT these days with the support desk closed?

trust me its more frustrating to see it sitting there unable to be used and having Mrs Crazy bending my ear about it. At least we only appear to have the stick drift issue with the controller and not the failed hard drive that has blighted many launch day units

Thank you.

for the nerds technical people among us: I’m not convinced that the following isn’t true

Grinding my gears… the RAFAC mental health week initiative focusing on connecting with nature, which completely misses the fact that many of our cadets are from the inner city areas with no easy access to nature. Some of my cadets live in flats, or terraced back to back streets without gardens.

I thought that yesterday as well. The picture of some millionaire’s garden was pretty tone deaf.

Had an email from someone ref AT tickets pointing out that we could easily get to places to add to our log books over the past year. Fine for people in rural areas but there’s very little round me that doesn’t mean driving out of town or using public transport. Both being discouraged if not actively banned during Tier 4/ lockdown.

I was really tickled by the Twitter account extolling the virtues of Training Tuesday same trying to entice people… by telling people about the risk assessment training available.

£250 orientation fees. :unamused:

1 week later than advertised and 2 weeks after the policy changed.

Nothing like joined up thinking

My OC now wants to do a CP event for every single parade night. I despair with this man.

(This on top of all the emails he must be getting with the new 3822 forms).

We do… Just to manage numbers though

I can see some merit in it, but I just seems like making work for ourselves when the cadets have all been allocated to bubbles and know what nights they’re in from the training plan.

And you definitely don’t have more cadets eligible than the bubble spacing allows?

Not sure I understand the question sorry.

Sorry, missed out words…
We do the same - a cadet portal event for every parade - despite the programme telling cadets which night is which flight.

But it’s chiefly because we’ve got ~20 cadets per flight, so we’re not allowed to have all of them at once, we can only take the 15 who sign up. It’s the only way to manage the system.

Ahh fair enough.

Our flights are the maximum bubble size at the moment so they can all turn up on the night if they want.

We’re only in week 2 of face to face parading so things might change in the future, but we’ll have to se show things go.

Doesn’t that mean you’re constantly mixing bubbles. Or effectively not even having bubbles?
