Dunno how accurate it is, but some apparent history of Edinburgh Sqns:
During World War 2, there were 8 Squadrons in the Edinburgh area: 35F, 142, 286,287, 288,1141,1142 and 1143. They were named 1st-8th Edinburgh respectively. Of these, only 142, 287 and 1143 remain inexistence today. As such, 287 Squadron is now the second most senior Squadron in Edinburgh.
GMG: The seemingly endless repeats of the same movies of TV. I swear the Equaliser has been on every week for the past 2 monthsā¦including tonight and Iāve just seen it advertised for next week!
Clocks changing⦠Really messy with my body clock which combined with my unhealthy obsession of Gordon ramseys kitchen nightmares means Iām a dribbling mess this morning
its actually quite surprising how much such a small difference can make. Once went 3 months during a project of only coming home to the UK at weekends from Europe and was a complete mess for ages, didnāt really register at the time.
The more I appreciate how much it messes us up, and for how long, the more I wish weād just give up on the idea of moving the clocks. Just pick one, like the EU decided to.
The problem is the communities North of the border. As it is, even Glasgowās sunrise isnāt till nearly 9 am for a lot of December, so if we moved to UTC+1 (which is the standard suggestion) some places in Scotland wouldnāt get light till nearly 11 am for a few weeks around the shortest day
Thereās no real reason for us to move in whole hours, Nepal Standard Time is UTC + 5 hrs 45 mins, because they wanted to separate themselves ideologically from India. Maybe we could move to UTC+00:37.5, just to mess with the whole worldā¦
and my other favourite fact that blowās everyoneās minds when they first hear it: Edinburgh is further west than both Carlisle and Bristol. Yes, really.
