2.5 year old car - was feeling smug that I’ll pay the finance early so was hit with a dose of fast karma… The dash lights up like a Christmas tree. Get it a lift to the dealer it came from and soonest they can see it is 2 weeks time! No courtesy cars available.
I think what @Baldrick is referring to is the end of DST in EU member states, which was meant to come into place yesterday, but has been postponed [1, 2, 3]. As with now, this wouldn’t stop different countries having different timezones, just stop DST. I actually don’t know if Portugal was planning to settle on UTC or UTC+0100
Absolutely no one is going to read it let alone apply it if you make it 10 pages long. Not sure if this is also because of the amount of ‘mandatory’ stuff that seems to be appearing in RAs.
Seems to me that RAs have far to much stuff that should just be in the AO/EAP.
GMG - kids that won’t stop growing. Crazy Jr is approaching 16 so would have hoped his growth would have curtailed a little, just been passed a pair of hand me up? trainers. Only got them just before lockdown 3 and can probably count on both hands the number of times they have been worn. On the plus side don’t need to worry about any new trainers for a while I suppose
Clearly you’ve got a decent club. Our local one does marathon and sprint only. Anything else (including fun!) Is alien to them. And their coaches are militantly performance coaches.
Next nearest is an hour’s drive. They have a weird system where coaches and leaders pay the same as participants to attend courses and evening sessions. And given the fees involved, it worked out cheaper to buy ourselves!
And we bought before covid tax happened - so we’ve currently got a Dynamo worth more than we bought it for!!!
It’s a really good club to be fair, been using for about 5 years pre covid. Apart from a one off tenner for an access pass it’s £50 a year and small fee for using boats outside of sessions. All his, including fun and canoe polo were all in. Totally had my money’s worth.
Last time I checked. £100 per year. Each. Or family membership for £300. Then £5-10 per session (including coaches who deliver the sessions!!!). Trip costs varied, but started at £30 for something local.
The local club is cheaper. But aren’t friendly. And aren’t interested in delivering in GP kayaking, canoeing or trips. Just marathon and sprint and performance coaching around “elite”. But without recognising an entry point for children and families might be useful!
My club is £25 per year too (includes NGB associate membership), but they’ve decided to roll over 2020 membership fees to 2021 since we didn’t really do anything last year, which seems pretty generous!
(there are 2 clubs in my settlement - one general purpose / ww / trips-based one - which I’m in, and one elite / marathon / slalom - I don’t even know much about them but they have produced a couple of Olympics podium paddlers so they must be doing something right. There’s also a massive salty club close by, which I keep meaning to join)
The Among Us update. If you don’t have an account the chat function is so limited as to be useless. But they screwed up the link to play store so you can’t actually set up an account
(This is very niche, but…) playboaters who don’t understand that not everyone wants to stay in the same spot of water all day practicing the same pointless tricks…
