You know what really grinds my gears? The Gears Strike Back

Boss: Why am I only just hearing about this project now? You really need to keep us in the loop at an early stage when something big and controversial is coming that’s going to take up a lot of legal resource.

Me: Forwards 12 emails covering a 3 month period updating her on the progress, along with her replies acknowledging said emails. Plus send minutes from two team meetings where I’ve mentioned this is on the horizon once ministers make a decision.

Her: well now I’m going to have to rejig the workload of everyone again.

Argggh. I’m not sure what else I can do to update her short of going round to her house and staple gunning post-it notes to her face

yep, never delete an email.

Every January first day back I create a new archive folder with the previous year and just copy everything from the inbox and sent items from the last 12 months into it.

Its amazing how some things suddenly become useful, especially when working with ‘preferred partners’ :smiling_imp:

GMG - Facebook algorithms.

Why show me countless ads in not interested in but not show some major life events posts from my friend :rage:

My company has decided that emails will only stay on Outlook for 3 months. :skull_and_crossbones:

So, every 5 weeks, I transfer all my inbox (& any important sent ones) to an “old emails” folder.

Guess what, about every 6 months or less, one of our office managers asks me for information that they didn’t retain…

Wing staff continuously calling our squadron the wrong name.

Officially we’re XXXX (City) Squadron, but they always say XXXX (Neighbourhood) Squadron - doesn’t seem to matter how many times we point out what the correct name is.

Might just stop responding to messages that use the wrong name…

We have a sqn that’s named after two areas, and some people refer to it as XXX Sqn or YYY Sqn, not XXX & YYY Sqn.

We’ve got 2 ‘official’ names - the name everyone calls us is not the names we’re listed as in Bader… :man_shrugging:

We get called 3 different names: 123 (Old name), 123 (New name), and 123 (Town)

Very confusing if you omit the numbers

There’s also 19 Sqn that uses XIX on their brassard :stuck_out_tongue: I know what’s wound a few people up at region events

I think am almost certain I know one of 19’s former OC’s… it wouldn’t surprise me if he introduced that :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah! Creepy Crawley. They’re in what is now my former Wg.

120 use CXX apparently it was agreed with the RAF Squadron that they would use it. :man_shrugging:

Couldn’t you say that about some people -have their name on the birth certificate and names that other people call them behind their back

but it’s what our OC calls us too - I’ve never heard anyone call us what we’re officially called in Bader

Bristol Squadrons are all known by their localities. Because we officially have North Bristol, East Bristol and South East Bristol. Or, Filton, Speedwell and Brislington.

Then there’s “Bristol Airport Squadron”, which is in fact 6 miles from Bristol Airport, in South West Bristol.

my parents actually live in Bristol, around the corner from a pretty large ARC that hosts ACF. I’d always wondered if there’d ever been a historical ADCC / ATC / ACO / RAFAC unit there

:astonished: GMG

when my parents moved to Bristol, we were known as the ACO, so that would have been an appropriate way to refer to a unit that existed then :stuck_out_tongue:

To be honest I know who the main culprit for this is on our Wing staff and also know he just does it to wind us up. But, it is a bit annoying when it’s on org charts and stuff from Wing.

It’s still on loads of HQAC stuff on SharePoint too!!!
