Sorry to interrupt, chaps, but where’s my fiver?
Unless they are descending to land at an airfield (unlikely with a tanker) , no need to fly that low - that’s sending a message.
Separate news - an WC135 Constant Phoenix air sampling aircraft was also airborne today.
Used to have that as a secondary role on Vulcans.
It’s certainly looking a bit spicy.
Born too late to fight and die in the middle east.
Born too early to fight and die in the middle east.
Born just in time to fight and die in the middle east.
Wonderful.
Getting ready to top up your tan?
Didn’t that move onto the VC10 fleet?
Could be someone using a good telephoto lens and photoshop.
Trump’s posts certainly now confirming America is directly involved, if it wasn’t already clear. Saying “We” have air control. etc.
No one seems to have a clue what Trump’s next move is here, but his own State Department has said “he is the singular guiding hand about what will be occurring from this point forward”.
Given how much him and his MAGA guys loved to have a go at Biden for being a warmonger, Trump’s certainly not looking like the peaceful president he promised to me. (Which is not surprising)
The removal of Iranian nuclear weapons is the priority. You don’t just need missiles or aircraft to deliver them.
All they need to do is surround the perimeter with some obviously placed but innocent looking objects. Ideally civilian electronics. Then no one will go in, and nothing will go out just in case.
Same pods that we had on Vulcans (think they were Sea Vixen drop tanks or similar), with an open frontage that had a big (paper??) filter to catch the sampled material.
Sounding lot like WMD rhetoric of 25 years ago.
Netanyahu claimed Iran were months away in 2012, weeks away in 2015.
Are they perhaps not just distracting from what they’re doing in the other direction?
The IAEA inspectors were pulled out and given the theocracy Iran the consequences of not acting don’t bear thinking about.
Can’t even confirm it - the Domino’s Pizza tracker is down.
Looks like a late pizza night to me.
Not even suggesting the situation isn’t serious, because someone must have something.
Whether that something is right though or isn’t being stretched for other motives…
Despite the odds increasing over time that Iran gets there, there’s definitely a crying wolf undertone.
I don’t think Iran is overly capable of much of a fight, and so I don’t see this as a catalyst for wider involvement.
From a US standpoint, as well as any other intel, motives, or agreements, I expect someone has gotten the message through that if they don’t do something about something, there will be a lot more somethings that need something doing.
So if the US does tag team with Israel and destroy the alleged Iranian nuclear facilities, will they officially be at war or will it be a “special operation” as Putin would say?
I don’t think anyone has actually declared war for a long time, possibly because of the UN Charter or something.
For the record, my assessment is this isn’t going to escalate into a world war. That would require Iran having friends other than fallen regimes and defeated terrorists.
That’s the thing Russia doesn’t have the capability for an escalation, China aren’t going to war for Iran and the Arabs hate Iran more than Israel.
I believe there’s only been 5 declarations of war since WW2, the main reason being that being in an official state of war brings restrictions and obligations that “conflicts” don’t.
