Yep, if that was a set up for the next series then it’d make sense. Including at the end when it does the summery one of the parts said something about ‘The restructuring in anti-corruption put those close to the chief constable in high office positions’
Seemed very leading to me. However given the trailer that they just played, I think that might actually be it for LOD.
I did see that trailer and that looks good. I’ve also seen Martin and Vicky posting saying thanks for the support etc indicating it’s the end, which is incredibly disappointing if true.

Twitter doesn’t seem too happy about it either. It’s a shame as I really enjoyed the show up until now. I even stayed up to watch it live. I rarely watch live TV.
At least the dodgy guards were taken in.
I thought if they tried to tie all that up in one ep it might seem rushed and anticlimactic. The two switches in mood in the interview were underplayed

Potentially a spin-off in the works? Some of the “what happened next” felt a lot like it was setting something up and leaving a door open for something.

Or it’s just a case of that outcome being deliberately unsatisfying to trigger viewers and slap them with a “life’s unfair”.
They’ve tee’d up another season in subtle ways.

lmao. I made sure I got home in time from the pub to watch it! This is the only non-sporting thing that I watch live!
Pretty disappointed but there are too many things pointing to another season that I will keep my fingers crossed at least, even if deep down I don’t believe there will be.
Just seems strange to have all these ‘goodbyes’ on social media but I hope you’re right.
Also, at what point does something take too long that it’s inevitably going to be an anticlimax?

I was getting this feeling. Imagine part of it isn’t so much that there wasn’t a great revelation, but moreso the sense of loss that it’s over. Some psychologist somewhere could probably explain it.
Yep. There’s more potential in the story and they’ve signposted it.

I am of the same view, deep down, I fear there won’t be another season although I do want there to be, as there are questions I still want answering!
