We used to get that, annoyingly fairly frequently. Turns out that whilst we still had power, the pumping station didn’t.
Had no power last night - went off at 1700, back on at 0230. Not the most thrilling evening!
Pah - obviously not around in 1972 / 1974 for the power cuts then!
Didn’t get much, if any, dispensation for not doing homework either!

Junction 43 of the M4 and the area surrounding it including a Harvester pub and a hotel are still without power.
Considering most food in a harvester is served stone cold regardless of the order I assume they are continuing as business as normal….

Four car smash this morning on local road - always a car or 2 going off in the same area if it’s icy.
This weekend could be interesting, I’m meant to be travelling to Cranwell from Dorset on Sunday.
By Sunday afternoon it looks like you’ll be fine that far up, but it’ll be borderline. Certainly wouldn’t want to be doing that journey on Saturday evening or early Sunday morning…
I take back what I said above. Driving to Cranwell on Sunday seems like a bad idea all day…
Given it’s CIC and looking at where others are coming from, I’m not sure how many will manage to turn up. Although it depends how accurate the weather report actually is…
