Weather Watchers

98mph gusts from Storm Garetti confirmed recorded so far.

Hope you all have your wheelie bins tied down?

Tied down to more than your fence! Coz nobody needs a kite surfing wheelie bin.

123mph. Wow.

You may have missed it being where you are, but they have an avalanche warning for Snowdon!

I’m back home, was only away for the day to sign a lease :face_with_tongue:

But yeah, saw that earlier. Normally only seen in Scotland! I think they were worried about certain steep areas near the summit? That’ll potentially be exacerbated by what’s blowing through now.

I’ve already seen some young adults being rescued from the snowy Scottish peaks earlier today. What’s the betting some idiots will be attempting to sunrise on Snowdon?

The problem is that Snowden is just too ‘easy’ in normal conditions, but absolutely lethal in bad conditions. And too many people are too thick to differentiate. You’ve now got avalanche risks, cornices forming, and of course the danger from the snow/rain/wind and cold.

But because it’s just a big easy path, people just think it’s an easy stroll.

Anybody in the Leicester area here?
I’m due to drive up from the snowless south today …just wondering how bad it is?

Not from the area, but my father went through earlier today. It’s open & passable on the main roads.

Massive solar storm going off right now. If you’ve got clear skies, look north. I’ve got a mate in Holsworthy, Devon who can see it from there!

Annoyingly Sussex has loads of cloud and rain, so nothing here.

Not exactly National Geographic worthy - but… they were visible to the naked eye just outside Bath

It’s only about -6C or close to it - positively balmy for Stockholm! Hop up to Kiruna - more like -17C!!

As much as I wish it was sunny so I could be out and about, this is rather beautiful!

Forecasting 30° here on Monday. Anyone else in the “don’t panic but everyone should panic” regions covered by the news?

22C at 2330 here in Geneva. Sat waiting for a bus in shorts and a t-shirt at almost midnight is pretty crazy for May!

Pfft, I’d love 22c here right now. You need to move back to a warmer climate.
