Interestingly, these first few days of November have been the warmest recorded since 2010. And I’m sure we all remember what happened then!
Actually I don’t; that autumn I ended up going to live in NZ for a couple of years!

2010 — I’m thinking riots, but nothing stands out about November in particular.
2010 had a massive cold spell end of November in to December. Down here, we had the most snow I’ve ever seen settle. I remember massive icicles handing off the house.

2010 December was cold with so much snow. I remember it took me over three hours to do a normal 20min journey. There was no snow when I left home that night but drove home from my work Xmas doo and let my 6mth old spaniel out to play in it at 2am
We had over a foot in one night during the cold spell. It was pretty mad for the South Coast to see that! I was still in school, and we were off for over a week.
My aircraft got snowed in at Gatwick on 02 Dec!
Luckily I had had the forethought to load the fuel up to give maximum forward centre of gravity, & also leave the tail stabiliser full nose down - all this to stop snow accumulating & tipping the aircraft on its bum!
I also booked a 4 x 4 taxi for the next day before we arrived at the crew hotel (took ages, M25 was, not surprisingly, a nightmare), so that we could escape to somewhere else!

I was living in Cornwall, we had some snow, but nothing biblical.

Still crazy warm. I’m still in shorts and T-shirt for work. Forecast says it’s not meant to dip below 14C tonight!
It does look like from Sunday onwards it’s finally going to start cooling down though. Might actually need to swap over to trousers for next week!
Looking at the forecast for tomorrow I might be needing arm bands

It might be cliché, but we really do need the rain. But like, regular normal rain not this massive downpours and flooding followed by weeks of no rain at all!
I still can’t get over how warm it is. Zipping about on the fork truck in our yard at 1630 in the middle of November in shorts and t-shirt. Not even close to cold.
I’m looking forward to cycling into the office tomorrow…
We’re genuinely watching this one quite closely.
Our garden is the lowest point nearby. We have had a case with heavy rain previously where the garden flooded, the electrics needed replacing and the fish escaped.
