Gonna be fun for the first couple of details at Bisley tomorrow…….

Slight chance of programme rearrangement after an assessment first thing.

Did you bring your kayak?

That was a few yrs ago - for today, things have eased off to “light” rain - currently, shooting is “go” - the NRA will monitor and react as required. :umbrella:

Glad I got my fishing waders out last night - & no, I don’t do fishing!!

Sorry, its an exhausting event and didnt have time to reply to this.

Tuesday (Day 1) was glorious walking weather
Wednesday (Day 2) was diabolically wet and miserable
Thurs/Fri was nice, decent temperatures til early afternoon when it reached 27° ish.

Not too many impractical rules implemented, mostly self managed by teams (sunhats/cooling cloths etc)

BMC wanted us to march out in the AM when it was still 13° in single layer, but some teams may not have fully listened to that rule and dropped down to t-shirts when it was appropriate.

So storm Floris is due to hit tomorrow, and is looking like it could be pretty bad for Northern areas of Scotland. Don’t normally see storms like this over the summer. Stay safe!

Amber weather warning for the Scots, just cancel my weekends fundraising in the west country

Watching BBC News and it always makes me laugh that they send their reporters into dangerous/life-threatening storms.

Reminds me of this infamous piece:

It’s looking potentially very bad. I’m amazed they’ve not issued a red warning tbh. Especially as the trees have so their leaves!

My favourite “going live” was when their news readers were on strike so they went “live” to a man standing outside the building that the show was from!

Must be bad,

First time the Edinburgh Tattoo has been cancelled for the weather

Ah yes. Amber warning for wind and rain. I know, let’s go camping with a small child! It’s no wonder people get hurt and killed in serious weather…

(This could really be a GMG post!)

It’s carnage across the North of Scotland this afternoon, friends were very much ‘this hasn’t come to much’ this morning and are saying it changed within minutes. Trees down everywhere, I’ve seen a van teetering on the edge of the Dornoch Bridge, caravans and motorhomes blown over, including one motorhome on the Bealach Na Ba - what anyone was doing up there today I don’t know!
