Using a Windows Server on Sqn

For anything within RAFAC that might require verification having the certificate won’t be helpful - as proof will be lifted from SMS or by asking Sqn staff.

I have enough issues with Staff giving out badges to unqualified Cadets. If a Cadet is really sharp enough to find something on Bader, they should perhaps be commended for showing initiative!

Is that because you’re a crusty WSO insisting that over qualified staff have to attend your course before they can give out badges?

Yeah that’s the one.

And bring back battle dress while you’re at it

Or maybe he just wants staff to deliver the training before giving out the badge

That’s what we crusty old SMEs dream of

I’m not sure I know of any staff that would give badges out without delivering the training.

It happens more than you think in both branches.

Apparently they can’t access it anymore which is a real kick in the face

Why?

Ffs!

What a pointless waste of opportunity.

Yeah, this was nice while it lasted! I would be intrigued to see how the HQAC training team currently expect senior cadets to access teaching material. Or any cadets to access for self-teaching.

AFAIK, the content was removed from Ultilearn and all put on SPOL to stop any duplication, and make updating easier. However what this has now done is created a system where squadrons now have to download local copies for cadets to access which will inevitably become out of date and not get updated. So rather than having the information in 2 places, Ultilearn and SPOL, we now have it in hundreds of different places, SPOL and all the various memory sticks and computers at each unit.

At the risk of repeating myself, a Sqn OneDrive would solve this at least in part.

Can we have those back please?

SharePoint won’t work as the Cadets can’t access it.

But they could, up until very recently. They had almost full access to the training hub.

Or how about a HQAC OneDrive folder system broken down into each classification/PTS subject that is publicly accessible?

That would work. I guess we need access control if that’s why it went off Ultilearn.

With a OneDrive I could sync to a PC on the Sqn and hopefully the material would be up to date.

I’m just thinking of a way of doing it that doesn’t require one person from every squadron spending time keeping it up to date. A way in which when something is updated, it is updated for everyone without 1 person from every squadron having to go and update their training files. Even if it only takes 5 minuets to do, that’s a lot of time once you times it by every unit!

I mean hopefully Bader Learn will be out soon, and isn’t that supposed to get all training material as well as the exams?
