IBN 018 - 2022 V3 is now out.

A mere week to get answers to all the questions.

I guess by the org’s standards that’s lightspeed.

Glad they got that out in time for it all to nearly be over.

Which makes you wonder why they expect us to keep up to date with constant policy changes when the people paid to do just that can’t even manage it

I wonder whether they plan to discipline the no shows. Wouldn’t surprise me

Good that things are going ahead in some capacity - wonder how many people will have to source their own mourning bands.

I find it puzzling that they are so against CFAV’s going to pay their respects in the Queens Uniform. I have at times watched the Lying in State stream and have seen Scout volunteers and SCC CFAV’s go past in uniform, giving a tidy salute as they do so.

I guess they can’t trust us to look like a sack of crap and embarrass the grown ups

Forgive the naivety but what exactly would happen if someone were to go in uniform?

Fire a volunteer when the organisation struggles for volunteers?

Bullied out.

There are enough cases of staff or volunteers bullying other volunteers revealed on here on a weekly basis, that this would not be an understatement.

Why would anyone wear uniform :man_shrugging:t2: You don’t see regulars wearing uniform in the queues

I have seen the gamut - some in regimental ties, some just beret, some in uniform. Down to the individual and in what it means to them I guess. Was a very emotional gent in his Navy rig at breakfast time.

Point is they seem to have the choice. I paid my respects yesterday morning at the palace and wouldn’t have worn uniform even if it were allowed - I guess I just found it an odd position for HQ to take.

I’m pretty sure the (not being allowed to wear) uniform is simply a security thing. Don’t think too much into it than that.

It’s not wanting some unironed knacker on the live stream.

We’re they queuing or Policing the queue? Police Officers aren’t allowed to wear uniform off duty.

In the queue…
About 8-10 of them all together in uniform carrying their Ceremonial hat rather than “bobby on the beat” uniform with stab vest and utility belt

They will have been sent/authorised by their force, probably from the mutual aid contingent.

I know that we have been told “no uniform” and when people asked about queue jumping on the basis that we are all on forced 12 hour shifts and won’t have a chance otherwise the answer was no.

Fair enough…

Wonderful coverage for The Scouts on GMTV again this morning who are now collecting food and drink from ‘The Queue’ before people head in to Westminster Hall and taking it to food banks. Also assisting those in wheelchairs and other assistance.

One said how she was fulfilling the promise she made to do her duty to The Queen. This is the same promise our cadets make, and yet they have been stopped from fulfilling that duty in this time of mourning. It’s a real missed opportunity for us as an organisation and for every cadet and volunteer.
