Would people welcome an official teams channel for engaging and exchanging ideas, asking questions etc?

I find myself wanting to ask a lot of questions casually, but having them hidden away in a forum doesn’t feel like the best place if it’s something people around the organisation may benefit from seeing…

Think VoP but more “Q&A and Info Exchange”

Ideally not hidden, like most of the channels on RAFAC Teams.

I feel that the virtual parades night ideas team has sorta transitioned into that, so yeah there’s a need/interest

I keep thinking ‘must look at that and see what’s in there’ then something else crops up I have to deal with!

That is how teams works, You are in the team or you are not. If you are not then it is hidden

Then there are certain teams that everyone needs to be in by default, rather than having to find out about them months or years later.

I’m sure that on MODNet Teams you can search for most of the station and unit teams, without having to be invited.

It’s it the ancient and honourable team of no Arthurs?

I do not disagree with you but generally Teams are created for small groups who want to work together.

Those are generally SharePoint Groups and are more open.

Likewise, I don’t disagree with what you’re saying but I was in an Op LONDON BRIDGE group by default, whilst I only found out about VoP from this forum.

Not so, you can have public teams that you can then elect to join.

Our problem is that none of the teams are set as discoverable so you need the code to be able to join or a link.

I remember my Heraldic Badges team was like that. It was only my early system for transparency and communicating with those going through the process, but even if I wanted to add people it was a bit of a pain.

Just seen this on Facebook. Should we be considering having CAS cadets?

My initial thoughts were around how we would keep such a prestigious appointment distinct from the Dacre Sword, but then I realised this was obvious. The Dacre Sword can be (and probably usually is) won by a cadet in their final year, whereas CAS’s cadets would need to be able to commit to a full year in the role (as discussed on the lord lieutenants’ cadets thread).

Maybe offer it is part of the Dacre award? Sword winner or next runner up that is able to commit to a full year engagement?

Not to be cynical, but how many 18/19 year old cadets can guarantee they can/will stay for that 12 month period!! This also rules out those who are already 19!!!

Can anyone recommend a company for branded Sqn merchandise?

Will obviously do my own search but looking for companies you have used and been happy with. Notepads, pens, bags etc rather than clothing

I like Tactical logos, theyre vet run and can get RAF badges and embroidery down properly

Vista print have been good for gizits & media items - just make sure you shop around.
