Does anyone know the requirements for bronze wings? I cant find any info anywhere…
It used to be Gliding Scholarship - not gone solo - but I think that there will be (is?) a 2 day cse at one of the “Astra Ground Schools.”
Ours (Wittering) not running yet as far as I’m aware.
I was told it was to do with an AEF flight and you do basic navigation that you would have synthetically done on a flight sim before.
What’s helpful is that I attempted to find out more, and all of the links to the actos on portal relevant to the wings have been “removed.”

Astra Ground School (AGS). How long has that been a thing???
A fair while, they are basically the flight sim version of VGS’s,
oh and depending on where you look they are also called Aerospace Ground School’s, Aviation Ground Schools, or now apparently Astra Ground Schools.

Knew that bit, been to 634 AGS many times. Didn’t know we could get to the stars in a flight sim.
Can anyone point me to our proof of insurance / indemnity?
I need to provide it by 2pm (belt and braces), but I can’t seem to find it…

For an air cadet parade is it acceptable to wear black socks with dark grey heels? I asked a corporal who said heels shouldnt matter, while another NCO said otherwise.
Could anyone help please?

Ideally they should be all black.
If all you have is black socks with grey heels, better to wear those than any other colour and a thousand times better than feeling like you shouldn’t do Remembrance parade.
Relax, don’t worry about and enjoy the parade. It’s very likely that no-one will even see the heels. If someone does, just say those socks are all you have but you plan to get some fully black ones when you can.
If you can’t see the heels when they’re in the shoes, who cares?

If you’re on parade and people can see the heels of your socks then you have bigger problems than the colour of them.
It’s taken me until reading this message to realise “dark grey heels” didn’t refer to the shoes…
Wasn’t sure why cadets were wearing high heels on parade.

For airmanship exam, I was told one of the questions were the same. I have to identify the aircraft. Does anyone have a picture of it or the name if you took the leading exam? Thanks
There is a bank of questions, you will receive 2 questions per learning outcome.
It’s very unlikely that the person sat next to you will receive the same questions

Hi, until next year I won’t really have the time to sign up for air cadet events, but I would like some more badges. Could the time at home or sqn help gain more? What badges could I get outside the cadet events?
