We’re not even able to get our CFAV No1 dress anymore.

But I’d rather have a decent pair of boots. and UBACs!

I’ve never got the obsession with UBACs if you aren’t wearing body armour, although my former Wing Weary Officers hatred of it did make me warm to it.

It’s more so it’s the perfect top for what we want, lightweight wicking material in the body and protected arms for crawling around.

The fact we can’t wear it because it’s called ‘under body armour’ is one of the stupidest things in this organisation.

Given the amount we go on about climatic injuries, UBACs make a lot of sense for us when doing fieldcraft in the heat of summer! Keep you a lot cooler than a normal LW jacket.

The cadet vest covers pretty much as much of the body as full body armour, ok without the weight.

Anyway, it’s ally and ally saves lives.

Im still yet to find a compelling argument why you need to wear Flying suits to teach principles of flights in a class room…it really bloody irritates me that the culture is out there that its an instructional aid…supposidly.

Same goes with pace sticks. Use it as an instructional aid or not at all, mine lives in the boot of the car most the time!

Just wait till you find out that instructor on Aviation Aerospace Astra Ground Schools have “permission” to wear flying suits too.

What is wrong with No2

You know my leanings

DPM trousers
Desert Boots
OG Woolly Pully
Blackened Beret Badge
‘58 Pattern Belt

The Cold War called and wants its kit back

I can’t believe I gave up my ‘58 pattern webbing belt all those years ago when they seem to be all the fashion now.

No way

DPM jacket
OG trousers
OG jumper
58 pattern webbing
Blacked-out beret badge

They were the days

Only with Boots DMS and puttees

My pre-CS95 was always tropical combats with ‘58 pattern belt and jungle boots or hiking boots. This was pretty standard in my infantry recce platoon, but wound the SNCOs up so much after my transfer to the RA.

In cabbage patch kit, I normally wear my '58 pattern belt, occaisionally my '37 pattern belt and in cold weather you will have to drag my old green pully from my cold dead hands!

I’m going to have the last word twice here.

First, you’re all wrong. 44 pattern is the coolest and rarest belt.

Second, we’re way off topic here.
