Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

Why have you repeated it. We allowed you to use a copy of certificate from before if already completed, which should have worked in your favour here.

Because then what else would he moan about? Seriously, don’t feed the troll.

You know that “trolling” is to do with fishing don’t you?

Isn’t that trawling?

With an apology for going massively off topic…
No. Trawling is dragging a net behind a boat, but trolling is dragging lines.

The concept of “trolling” for a response on the internet makes far more sense when one considers that this is from where it came… and not from those little creatures who eat billy goats.
It’s a similar idea to “fishing for compliments”.

Where The Internet has adopted the retort “Don’t feed the troll” it really should have been “Don’t take the bait”.

Every day is a school day…
This is proper pub-quiz stuff.

What are people doing when new cadets and parents attend a Sqn for the first time?

Specifically as parents are banned from entering Sqn HQs at the minute. How are you getting parents to complete paperwork etc? 3822A etc.

Outside in carpark?

Got a waiting list to join.

Are we not able to do 3822A electronically yet?

Maybe covid could be a catalyst for change on that.

I know “wet” signatures / e-signatures get some people a little over excited…

I was under the impression they can attend as long as its prebooked

I hope this is the case… feels a bit odd saying to a parent;

Please drop them at the gate, fill out the forms - but no you can’t come in and see our set up or speak with any staff Or see what we’re up to… Feels a bit odd.

Although, all those years ago as a cadet, when I joined I’m fairly sure my folks never once visited the squadron, I just took paperwork to/from… I might have a word with them, they clearly couldn’t care less about my welfare!!!

They aren’t banned - their attendance just needs to be recorded if they are there longer than 15 minutes.

I remember rocking up with my pal and being left at the gates! I took the forms home and then brought them back. I remember the first time my parents came down we the enrolment event months later.

I’m going back 12 years ago now!

I have been told that under no circumstances can parents enter Sqn HQ.

Page 27 of 39 of version 7.0 of the return to Sqn parades guide says otherwise.

‘No parents or carers to enter building’.

What are we supposed to do?!

Treat it as guidance would be my view. If it’s necessary, then make sure their attendance is recorded, suitably socially distanced etc etc.

Saying they can’t come in isn’t reasonable or practicable in my opinion. You will just need to minimise the occurrences to minimise mixing.

Hmm, would love to.
But it’s part of the mandatory risk assessment…

Has no one at HQAC / recovery Biffs thought about the future and how we can recruit…

Nope, thought not.

Not having read it recently, and currently cooking, does it say mandatory, or is it a generic risk assessment to be adapted to local conditions?
