Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

The email chain originated from COS and was to the Regional Commandants originally.

Still nothing here. It’s really frustrating that we’re not getting the comms needed to be able to continue planning.

I’m 90% sure of what the RAFAC guidance will be but surely some confirmation from HQAC within 24 hours shouldn’t be too much to expect.

Was given to W&W Wing Commanders earlier today.

I’m 90% sure of what the RAFAC guidance will be but surely some confirmation from HQAC within 24 hours shouldn’t be too much to expect.

I’m afraid we are stuck between a rock and hard place at the moment for 2 reasons:

  1. HQAC comms and media are largely useless unless it is pre-planned stuff and none internal.

  2. The RCs are the DDH for this stuff and have to be informed first, how they then choose to distribute that information and policy is up to them. I would probably put money on most sending it to Wing Commanders quickly but ultimately Wing Commanders are CFAVs too so should be given the same allowances of being able to check their emails at their leisure, be given time to consider the best way to disseminate that information, brief their team and then send it on to the masses.

Absolute nonsense. How can youth groups operate, protests etc etc happen, yet families can’t meet? If anything it should be the other way round. If this is in place at Christmas, as has been intimated, it will be ignored. This is not a vote winner.

I think stopping the spread of infection and avoiding a full on lockdown like we had earlier this year is a higher priority than winning votes.

Families can still meet but I see this as a way of controlling interactions to an extent. Realistically if people go to visit family all of the social distancing stuff probably goes out the window as they step through the front door.

And this is the problem.

Go to a restaurant they have hand sanitiser on entry, people’s homes don’t.

The next General election isn’t till 2024, nobody will care about Covid then, the political newscycle moves too quickly.

Technically speaking David Cameron should still have been Prime Minister until 7 May this year… A lot can happen in five years.

Who?

Already local schools here are closing as teachers have got covid. No cases in the population of pupils though.

I eventually was given access to my building last Friday, as our local RFCA assured my Wing, Region and HQAC that all the checks had been made for us to return. Over the weekend and on Monday I got everything ready, did everything in the checklist and was awaiting sign off for cadets to return again.

It turns out our local RFCA didn’t do any checks after all and just said they had for an easy life, so on Tuesday all of the buildings in the RFCA’s area were no longer deemed to be ‘safe’ and we’re not allowed access again. I have been told no-one can enter until all mandatory testing is re-done, even though it’s all in date. This was after i’d given cadets a date to return in two weeks, as per the instructions.

It’s so frustrating, this process is a mess. There is nothing dangerous about my building, I was in there for three days!

I really hope someone at RFCA gets the boot for that.

… we do.
Anyone who wants to enter, uses it, or doesnt come in.

This should be the norm now.

Edit.
Frankly if every household in Britain did this we would be a hell of a lot better off!

Govt should spend £1bn or whatever issuing x1 one litre alcohol hand gel dispenser to every address in uk.

No chance

I’m just anti-social and don’t want visitors.

Pretty sure it’s safe to assume that despite there being diligent individuals among us many will not be.

Not really fair to blame the process for someone not following the process. Sucks to have been put in that position though.

although i agree with what you are saying, i know what Juno is getting at.
our buildings are unlikely to have been infected way back in March as the virus was not well spread at that time.
for those units which were infected, we’re now 5+ months on, the virus would have died so lost at the need for any “cleaning”.
i get the maintenance check, water leaking/legionella risks but nothing that a CFAV cannot do themselves/report of an fault

The risk is low, but I wouldn’t want anyone to be paying for their own legionella check.

Nor (more importantly) would I want to set a precedent where anyone from RFCA gets away with such a breach.
