Ditto

Our building has been given the all clear, just waiting for RHQ permission now.

That’s great news! Time to get the floor tape out :slightly_smiling_face:
Have you had any advice on the new limit of 6 people and what effect that has? Assuming that applies in for your area of the UK, of course.

Can’t see why we would be exempted, we are non-essential. Pick 4 cadets and 2 staff, if you have enough staff to make that viable.

I feel sorry for families where getting together will be effectively a no no, unless you do it in shifts.

I guess it depends on whether we are classed as a social gathering or Covid secure education establishment. Time to get BTEC on the training programme

I understand we’ll be exempt as an organised activity

BUT it’s up to cadets and the staff if they want to come back now or not.

It does not!

To be honest I’ve not seen anything on how we’re supposed to mark out the building but I’m not the OC and have other responsibilities for the return.

Surely we can’t claim to be an educational establishment? I’ve looked at that before for charity claims and it was a very strict definition. We’ll have to wait and see what the government make up.

We’re recognised by OFSTED as an educational organisation.

Well, we follow the National Youth Agency guidance, with some MoD thrown in too.

The NYA will be releasing updated guidance by the end of the week. guess the RAFAC approach will trickle down the CoC by Christmas.

Update with announcement from NYA

NYA confirms that despite the change to social gathering restrictions by gov, NYA Guidance remains at Amber level because youth sector activity is now classified an essential service

All activities COVID secure to NYA guidance standards may continue

That seems really positive. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully MOD and HQAC will continue to follow NYA advice.

Good find! Looks like this shouldn’t change anything for us then!

Yes!
#excellent.

Really looking forward to getting 12 or 13 cadets in at a time.

Better than 3 or 4.

Bear in mind some squadrons only regularly parade that number (or less). Also, for those 12 cadets it could make a massive difference.

I’ve had confirmation this morning that we’re not affected and should crack on as planned.

From whom?
