No issues there for those of us with a standard Spooner hut then…
You couldn’t fit two people in if you tried.
According to social media all cadets in England can undertake sqn activities again…
Yup. I haven’t received either the Return to f2f v4.1 guide or the new V1 training guide through CoC and now I will have all of my cadets on my tail. Brilliant.
Will be interesting to see how you guys get on.
🏴 is a way off yet I think!
Don’t we need to have the huts sorted by RFCA first and then staff go in and clean etc, or has this been superceded?
There is a SharePoint Announcment with links to both documents.
Except if you’re in Manchester, West Yorkshire, Leicester…
…what a colossal balls up yet again.
Nope, there are two seperate things.
Return to squadron parade nights - RFCA checks to buildings, rearranging rooms to allow social distancing and max room occupancy etc.
Return to Face-to-Face activities - outdoor activities, hikes, sports etc, not on squadron footprint.
FWIW I think the guidance that has gone out is reasonably well done. Certainly no worse than that from other youth groups. And they are trying to hit a moving target.
Shocking bit of social media yet again.
No mention of caveats that are being applied, no comms plan via CoC nothing. When will someone get a grip of HQAC comms?
Look at the sharepoint announement for more information.
Can anyone explain why for conducting paddlesports we can only use sit on tops or paddleboards?
All well and good but wouldn’t we need to have toileting etc available?
Where we do our sports it’s a couple of mins from the sqn. In the good old days fine, but if we can’t / not allowed to get into the hut we don’t have access. There are no public toilets of any description within a 5 minute drive, but only if the supermarket is open.
I like their ambition, but the practicalities and what HQAC have said needs to happen haven’t been considered. This seems to be no more than a populist ruse.
What?!
I would say rescues, but SUPs cause more rescues than canoes.
The recomendation is small scale activities to start. Kids (and Adults) can hold it for an hour or two . . .
Why are we learning about this via Facebook first again!
It really really puts my urine over 100 degrees.
it was a simultaneous release of SharePoint and Social Media
So why not release via CoC first so everyone is aware it’s going to come and can pre-prepare their canned statements? Not hard is it having your people better clued up than the general public.
But I don’t check sharepoint every minute of the day. I have a job.
Meanwhile I get messages from cadets who have seen it on Facebook asking what it means.
this is the question, yes.
