Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

What financial sense would there be in governments killing the people paying them? Even Rupert Murdoch needs people paying for his product.

Tis Christmas time, tis christmas time, when topics go to the wall.

The start of the school term in wales has been delayed for pupils.

Start of school term in January delayed in Wales amid Omicron fears

The BBC states that they are preparing for online teaching in the whole of the UK which would be devastating for kids.

And if that does happen, I suspect that would force us back to virtual sessions again.

If that happens…

RIP the ATC!

My kids are going to HATE this. Not the “online teaching” - they don’t get that luxury; they have to go to KeyWorker school instead - and suffer an entirely different kind of pain! :frowning:

Nope.

I will just close the Sqn and give everyone the time off this time.

Sorry.
But am completely, out of puff to run all that again.

This would be my approach too if it comes to it.

It would likely only be a temporary measure, say a month tops, so yeah, no enthusiasm here for online sessions. Just a longer break.

Be good if HQAC just made the decision now, then we all know what we’re doing, plans can be amended in good time, instead we’ll all be planning to return on Monday 10 January and at 16:59 the big red panic button will be pressed and Sqns stopped from returning F2F.

At our school there has been no mention of returning to online lessons, but we do have a day left. We have had a total of 14 cases across the school 6 kids and 8 staff, some are due to return tomorrow, but unlikely. We have had to test 56 kids since last Friday who have said they didn’t feel well, all negative, my mate and I reckon they wanted to have an early end of term.

I personally see the upcoming holiday being “the break” some are talking about. Any return to an online world for schools will be detrimental and harmful and be a nail in the coffin for Air Cadets. As suggested better to close for longer.

Although I want this to be true, it could also go the other way. Although it’s a break from mixing with normal school/work colleagues, it’s a massive increase in mixing with people you don’t normally see day to day. This can cause a much wider spread. Although there’s so much about at the moment I’m wondering if it doesn’t really matter!

My neighbour, who runs the pre-school, has (along with the “big school”) been told to prepare contingencies for online delivery…

As I see, as long as schools are allowed to be open, and NYA guidance allows operation, we will be open.

Locally however it could be a different matter, and I suspect we could see adhoc closures for a week / ten days here and there due to Staff having tested positive etc, a contingency could be therefore holding a VPN instead for that period, but I hope that is it and no blanket all stop.
