I have no words

Well, it’s a view!

What gets me with the latest revelation of the N°10 goings on, is it was last year, if it was that much of a problem, make a fuss when it happened, not now. I can’t imagine there wasn’t a load of SM guff at the time from those present for the press to make something of. If someone got excited about something I did in the past (ie more than a couple of weeks) my response would be … and … ,

Overall with the latest variant, there is a sense that the bug is weakening given that symptoms are not as severe, so getting it could increase our immunity. So why we are going through all this again loses me. We have got to move on,. The only people to win out of stirring it up all the time are “the experts”, by keeping themselves in the limelight.

All the more reason why we have to be flexible, adaptable, and not scared of the occasional restriction or limitation.

Sticking your head in the sand, ignoring prudent safety measures, and blindly carrying on regardless is nothing short of idiocy, especially when we here all pertain to have cadets’ best interests at heart.

Showing a fundamental misunderstanding about the method of transmission of each virus there fella

I am aware of very apparent differences, but my point was that the spread of one of the diseases isent stopping us from keeping moving unlike this one. Both of which causes death.

I’m not too sure if it’s your appauling grammar, but I’m pretty certain its actually the minority of people that can actually work from home.

I know I can’t!

Despite such Grammar mistakes you still got the flesh of my comment to that is good

I assume you gold the same view on all crime?

Theft is fine, so long as you don’t get caught within a couple of weeks?

How about fraud? If it takes more that a couple of months to put a case together, just drop it?

Is there? Given it was firsf found about 5 weeks ago, the first cases should be hitting hospitals about now (oh look, they are). We can maybe start to form an informed view in the next week or two.

Apologies if I have misunderstood this but my understanding is that any summary offence that would dealt with in the magistrates court must be charged /submitted to the court for consideration within 6months of the offence.

Yes this does include shoplifting offences (theft up to a certain amount) and the vast majority of covid offences.

In this instance as it’s over 6months there’s no legal obligations so the release of the information has a purely political effect.

The 6months limitations is the only legal limitations we have in the UK which is unusual compared to other countries.

Actually, in the charging practice section of the Coronavirus Regs on the CPS website it says:

"Offences under the Coronavirus Regulations are not governed by the 6 month time limit (from the offence date) set out in section 127(1) of the Magistrates’ Courts. The Regulations are made under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 and section 64A of this Act states that the time limit for proceedings is:

before the end of the period of 6 months beginning with the date on which evidence which the prosecutor thinks is sufficient to justify the proceedings comes to the prosecutor’s knowledge; and
within 3 years of the date of the commission of the offence."

If I’m reading that right, the offense should be proceedable. If that is the case, the Met need to get on it…

(Stolen comment but I had it bookmarked)

Even if Boris Johnson can’t legally be responsible for the christmas party he is still morally resposnible because he is PM and should lead by example and all that.

He never has been before. Not sure that it’s anywhere in his personality.

That’s where the media and public bassicly barate him for it so he thinks twise next time.

It’s amusing that you think he thought once about it, let alone that he’s capable of thinking twice.

None of this will affect him. He’s untouchable in the party, and his base don’t care.

Which is one of the reasons that the complete failure of the Labour Party to sort its life out is so bad for the country.

The Conservatives understand that ideological purity in opposition isn’t as important as compromise in power, Labour don’t get that simple fact. (Why would we have someone like BoJo from the left wing of the party as Conservative Leader otherwise).
