I’m not going back to bubbles either - it was a logistical nightmare.
I would rather carry on and get dismissed.
Masks fine.
‘Distancing’ fine.
Bubbles. Nope. Jog on.
We’ve gained a load in the last 6 months. Couldn’t manage bubbles either, so won’t be. All rubbish though as they will mix in a much bigger bubble at school!
But I honestly don’t see what NYA need to change, the last changes brought masks back which we never binned, so there shouldn’t be any change.
The NYA Advise does not currently require Masks, other than being recommended in tight unventilated areas.
I expect they will go back to matching us and indoor mask wearing will be the main change.
In Wales,
New advice for Schools in Wales from the Welsh Government is masks in all settings except canteens when food is being consumed. All other indoor settings; classrooms corridors and communal areas pupils and staff will need to wear a mask.
Incidentally a friend of mine works in the NHS has said there is no medical reason that would preclude you from wearing a mask.
Your friend is wrong
Explain ?
What physical medical illness would prevent you from wearing a proper medical facemask?
This is wrong.
I know of 2 individuals, who cannot wear masks as they have panic attacks.
Your friend is wrong.
That may be due to a old fashioned definition of the word medical.
There is no physical medical issue which prevents mask wearing.
Mental health issues are a whole different ball game.
Contact dermatitis.
Fungul infection
Post surgery recovery
The list goes on
Prob best for people NOT to make sweeping statements…
My dad had to have surgery between his cheek and ear last year before Christmas. He couldn’t wear a mask for about 3 weeks because of the healing!
We are not set up for bubbles in any way. Not enough staff to have dedicated groups looking after specific bubbles and rooms too small to really accommodate people. We struggled along before, but it was when nights were lighter and warmer and not cold, miserable etc.
If there are any changes that insinuate this, we may as well bin it until the New Year. December and January come to that are slower months, so if we were out until mid-Jan it wouldn’t make too much difference. Forget all the advance planning etc. If those above can’t see there is little point to medium/long term planning, especially if the Govt say there are restrictions on how/where/why people meet, Christ knows where they have been.
I do think we have to get over this shutting things down or imposing measures mentality every time a new mutation comes along. How much of this is driven by media be that news or social, with the govt doing something to avoid criticism. If we don’t, then nothing will change, restrictions eased, we assume we can get back to a “normal” life and then a new variation comes along and it’s back down the snake. Get people vaccinated and get on with life, whatever it throws at us.
Can we wait to hear what the recommendations are before we start getting hot under the collar?
I mean, I know it would be a first for us, but let’s give it a go
NYA confirm status back to Yellow
Remind me…
Does that change anything
It’s just masks mandatory now…
Which we were anyways.
Wait one
Just masks. Residential, lack of bubbles etc. still all the same,
You beat me to it.
I am on the world’s worst client site guest wifi today
I don’t see why anything needs to change. The actual data on infections, hospitalisations and deaths doesn’t worry me. Not any more than it did a few months ago anyway. It doesn’t really match the uptick in doom and gloom in the press over the last couple of weeks.
Was there any update on Thurs? Saw something on social media on the Acf about important updates
