Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

NYA to yellow

  • Masks & something about international travel.

So no change for us as we never moved from that.

Plus something about reviewing your risk assessments… Yay.

Does looking at the folder which holds them count?

‘I reviewed that they were still all there’.

Done.

I thought that too, until I remembered there’s a little box to fill in too… thankfully it’s on the front page. If it was at the back, I’d probably have fallen asleep before I filled it in.

Usually the lab tell the Health Protection Team in Public Health the varient (if the genome sequencing is done) and that’s passed to the contact tracers ( who are also part of Public Health) who can then pass this onto the patient when finding out who they’ve been in contact with and when. I’m sure that’s how it’s working in the NHS Board I work in.

Plan B then.

As I see it shouldn’t change what we are presently doing?

It depends on whether the NYA says that youth activity is covered by ‘not being able to work from home’ I guess. Either way we’ll still need to carry out statutory/H&S checks as we did during the January lock down.

I have a feeling we’ll be back on Teams in January :unamused:

Better not be.
Not so sure the Corps would survive it.

If schools are open.

We will be open.

Not too sure if I could cope with another shutdown!

Government: Announces new restrictions, that have no impact on RAFAC, to come into force from MONDAY.

RAFAC: In a knee jerk reaction, cancels THIS WEEKENDS QAIC f2f course with 2 days notice, losing approximately £4000 on rail tickets already issued!

What a total waste of money.

Before and after.

Boscombe’s was cancelled F2F a week or two ago.

You can request a refund (minus admin fee), I’m sure, for off-peak tickets

NYA have confirmed that the changes have no impact on the current Youth Level and no further restrictions are required

Travel tomorrow night to the 2 centres would be peak time.

Last months was always going to be virtual. This weekends was cancelled late last night, or at least that’s when the cadets were told!

Still refundable I think, as long as not advance single tickets

I was always given open returns when I did QAIC.

It might be refundable, but it’s someone else’s money being spent so I doubt anyone will care too much to try and get the money back. As far as the person who bought the tickets is concerned, the money’s come from a pit with a magic money tree in it.

Unpopular opinion time. Travel by rail to these high end events should be at personal cost. Where there are financial issues which would otherwise prevent attendance then the civ comm/school should step in. This shouldn’t be from the public purse.
