Preparing to Return to F2F Activity... Again/Still

It’s at 24 minutes in, thereabouts, if that helps

Sounds pretty sensible to be honest, the underlying thing that maybe we’ve not considered in our desperation to get back (@Paracetamol  ) is the impact of having ~45 cadets down and the impact of a positive test amongst the group.

Although this is only going to be an issue to 16 August when U18 no longer have to self isolate

This is exactly what they were saying in the webinar. Think very carefully about group sizes; just becuase you can have a free for all, doesn’t mean you should as a single positive case could shut down the whole unit rather than just a bubble.

Indeed. Part of me is tempted to close until 16 Aug, just from a selfish point of view that I don’t want to be ‘pinged’ (and so lose work).

In practice, I’ve been stressing to the Cadets that if they keep to social distancing, they are less likely to have to isolate.

I had the same. It turns out that the RFCa assessor asked the Wexo “How many cadets are in this unit”. The answer was 30, so that’s what was put as our max capacity, which effectively halved the previous limit.

We appealed, and the limit was raised to a more sensible number.

Good news, I’ll see if I can appeal then

Anyone got a link to a recording of the NYA webinar?

found it

I wonder if we will keep to the ‘1 case Sqn stands down for 2 weeks’ rule? It seems to be automatic regardless of mitigation measures or bubbles.

Wonder when we will get the next iteration of the ‘guidance’.

NYA published their guidance on Friday.
So, assuming HQAC have the back space key to hand… shouldn’t take that long.
:rofl::joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy:

Now Wednesday… law and rules everywhere but air cadet land have changed…

Yet we continue to need to be bubbled and stand 2 meters apart…

Pathetic.

We are volunteers.
HQAC are not, they are full time CS. Get a move on and release us from bubbles and distancing.

I can’t remember how long it took from other changes, but remember it being a few days. Any minute now I’d have thought (hope).

Map is turning red
Hospital admissions are creeping up
Awaiting the news reports of punchups in shops between mask and non mask wearers

Think we might have a little while to wait yet

Besides it is so hot only had 1 cadet turn up last parade

That’s a bit unlikely

you think…
…have seen some aggressive ‘discussions’ already - some very passionate people on both sides of the argument

Knowing the aggressive, fist talking public as I do, I’m surprised it hasn’t happened more already.

That’s exactly what happened in the USA though

Saw it first hand yesterday, bloke getting super aggressive because the staff member in co op was still wearing a mask. Ended up getting banned from the shop the tool.

I forgot my mask when I went out for my sandwich yesterday, only realised after the long walk into town.

Didn’t really want to walk back to walk back (if that makes sense) in the heat, so just popped into the shops without it.

Some people wore them, some people didn’t. Some staff wore them, some staff didn’t.

As we were all minding our own business everything was fine. There are lots of things in life I feel strongly about, but I wouldn’t start yelling at a stranger over it.

What the actual hell. I can’t comprehend someone who would get angry at someone else for wearing a mask.

I can kind of understand someone getting angry at someone else for not wearing a mask.

But what has to be going on in your life to getting angry at someone trying to protect themselves and those around them…

I got some strange looks last night when I was wearing my mask while ordering at the bar.
