I see this happen far too much. It is much better to explain your rationale for taking a particular course of action and respond to any valid challenges.
That’s why anyone happening to mention to me ‘oh, we were told Region said this’ in my particular area of responsibility will quite quickly be met with a response of ‘nonsense, that’s someone making up a local rule’. If it is something Region has put in place, I’ll explain the rationale.
OK, I don’t understand then. I’m saying that my wing are telling me region have said all F2F activities must go through our WeXO. Neighbouring wings are not doing this, so either my wing is making it up or neighbouring wings are not doing what is asked of them. So far 2 other wings are not following the same directive as mine, which leads me to believe mine has misunderstood it (rather than 2 other separate wings disobeying their superiors at the same time).
I recall from the original Return to Activity guide that the RC had to view & approve all RAs so that they were comfortable with the CV19 measures being put in place, however once the RA was approved it was a case of submitting activity as we would normally following ACTO 10 requirements.
It’s cases like this where we can really improve our transparency and these messages should be sent by the RC to all and then enforced by WHQs etc, rather then it being a case of he said / she said.
Ah the old “Rule of 36”, (when we had 36 Wings), of everyone doing almost what was written, but 36 different ways of it… Or completely doing what they wanted anyway…
I’d do it, but I’m busy making the Blue, Bronze and Silver Teams Participation badges. There is no Gold at the moment, that will be released when Windows 11 comes out.
Just catching up on the webinar and very much enjoyed the “hope I haven’t confused people” line when he was trying to explain who is actually classed as an 18 year-old…
I’d love to know the reasoning behind the date of 18th birthday being backdated to August 2020 for affect now. I can see the adult / minor legal differences surrounding 18 year old, but struggle to see why we have to treat differently in our setting, but hey ho.
But in Scotland, pupils won’t have to maintain 2m physical distancing at all in schools from next week (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-56649985) - does that also apply to youth groups?
