Sorry i forgot the
that doesn’t help…
My professional institute pulled a blinder back in January.
They sent out an email at 4pm on a Friday to all students informing us that all exams were cancelled and that we had to reschedule for remote invigilation. Naturally, they then all went home and nobody was answering the phones.
They also failed to inform the exam provider who refused to reschedule already booked exams because they hadn’t heard anything about the cancellation order.

Where I used to work would have emails set to out at 00:01 on a Friday so that they weren’t in the Office when everyone exploded.
I think it does, I think that means it ends in Cock-up… but I’m struggling with the first half.
When you can’t tell the difference between your ■■■■ and your elbow it ends in a cock-up?

Worst game of catchphrase ever!
Don’t get me wrong I’ve certainly been there too, I always think it feels so much later than whatever time it actually is because of the mass exodus at 3.45 which always makes you feel so much better about life. Although on the plus side you can get your printing done undisturbed.
To have some semblance of the topic, I’m looking forward to actually seeing people I know when we return to f2f, that will be both weird and exciting. I’m terrified my uniform won’t fit though - lockdown has involved a lot of chocolate.
CCAT are advertising residential courses may onwards… eeek!
I feel like they might be a tad over enthusiastic when the NYA guidance says residential is highly likely to be camping only first, unless they know something HQAC doesn’t? Might be a nuance of the Welsh rules perhaps?
Edit - just seen at least one of the courses is advertised at Halton, so maybe they do know something we don’t.
I think I saw a residential course at Fairbourne (Wales) in May, dates don’t fit with work though unfortunately.
They are on the calendar, but recent conversations suggest they are nowhere near as certain as CCAT are suggesting, certainly from a RAFAC perspective.
Doubt it. They’re still talking about a max of 30 people outside and 15 inside for organised activities here. Plus that’s all tied to the same reopening criteria as gyms for some reason.
Interesting, shame they only accept us on a backfill (as I believe we do them) as I’m guessing places go fast, it would be nice to have a tri service offering.
3 days after the promised date, still no update. It’s almost as if they don’t want us to return…
And a year to the day that we had notice to empty the squadron premises of anything of value, lock it all up as best we can and we’ll let you know when you can return…
Dont forget. If we dont return they have successfully minimised their risks.
On the flip side, I’ve planned my first CPD day paddling on 11 April…
Which is great and lovely, but hardly helpful to everyone not in the special club to have seen the document yet. I mean that as no slight against you @redowling, more at the organisation.
Say it gets released today at 6pm. I need to schedule time to review it, then review it with my staff, then review our risk assessments for any activity we actually managed last year to see if they meet the new guidance, then actually create/amend risk assessments for activities we haven’t done last year.
Then I need to create the admin order and travel plan. Then the SMS app. Then I have to submit and hope that my WATTO is on it and actually checks (which he does). Then wait for him to get approval to sign it off from our RATTO. Then add any feedback in that is requested.
Then I need to contact parents and let them know we’re back, as well as cadets. Then I need to actually run the activity.
If this was released on the 19th, as the Commandant said, it would have been tight to get stuff going from the 29th. Every day it is kept from us is a day we can’t provide our primary function to our cadets and given that they’ve had a year of that, time really is of the essence.
