Do we know if he stuck in it for awhile or was it a case he was a Cadet for a couple months then left to be in the HP films?
When he wasn’t busy filming movies, Matthew was an enthusiastic member of 2168 (Yeadon) Squadron in Leeds, throwing himself into the cadet lifestyle.
“I’ve been a professional actor since I was five and so apart from that and school, I didn’t have much else going on: I was quite introverted and shy. Joining the Air Cadets was a great opportunity for me to do something different and interact with other people. I really enjoyed it and definitely grew as a person.”

A good choice imo if the point of an ambassador is to act as a form of promotion for RAFAC. Pretty good folllowing on social media and mostly just talking sports on Twitter/X. Instagram is mostly just talking holidays and new jobs/old jobs and premiers. Seems like a decent choice and with being an ex cadet seems like a good fit if HQAC are looking for a new one.

Ahhh how about Jessica Gagen… she’s currently Miss England, Aerospace Engineering Graduate, STEM Ambassador does a lot of outreach.
We should probably aim for Miss United Kingdom, to keep the other home nations happy.

Believe they use the term ERWT now, but I’m pretty sure you’re right in saying that cadet forces are overrepresented. Most likely because kids that are more likely to be into that sort of thing are more likely to be attracted to the MTP and “guns” that come with a military themed youth organisation. Keep up your prevent training, folks.

I was thinking of Former red 10 and blades pilot Sqn Ldr Mike Ling. He was also a cadet at Biggin Hill Sqn in Kent.
