Believe they use the term ERWT now, but I’m pretty sure you’re right in saying that cadet forces are overrepresented. Most likely because kids that are more likely to be into that sort of thing are more likely to be attracted to the MTP and “guns” that come with a military themed youth organisation. Keep up your prevent training, folks.

I was thinking of Former red 10 and blades pilot Sqn Ldr Mike Ling. He was also a cadet at Biggin Hill Sqn in Kent.
Someone else said Tom Cruise! Yeah well hes famous and flies planes! Like John Travolta! Also 2 are American!
Erm Bruce Dickenson? However I know he is a British musician and has his own plane! But younger people may not know that!

And herein lies in the key question we need to answer; who’s our ambassador actually for?
Are they someone who will recruit more young people to the org, or are they someone to recruit more CFAVs and generate opportunities that may not otherwise be forthcoming.
Ideally, they’re both. But which is the priority if both isn’t feasible?

Surely we need two.
One to raise awareness and well influence on voting adults and industry, one to draw people towards joining as cadets.
Mr Longbottom good for the latter, Tom Chris arguably good for all, Sqn Ldr Ling probably better for industry.
