Mtp

Interesting point.

It won’t help for road marching where the team needs to dress alike, though the issue of whether ATC teams will be permitted MTP at Nij has yet to rear its head

Why wouldn’t they be permitted to wear MTP for Njimegen - it is authorised uniform afterall.

Maybe allowed, but practically, you will need 48 sets to kit out the average Nijmegen team. To do that by July will be ab epic achievement.

I say 48 based on 12 people with 4 sets. Anything less than 4 and you will smell.

Nijmegen has its own dress regs. Currently still allowing the wear of OGs, KD shirts, blue jumpers and DPM jackets all on one person. As long as all 12 are similarly attired. Don’t go there either.

UNIFORMITY!!! out the window haha, nah i still like the fact that on the parade past you get to wear nice blue shirt’s with whatever ants the team happens to wear. i personally think MTP will look very nice with a wedgewood shirt. and don’t forget the SD cap to top it off

it is actually - its theoretically a solution to the problem of CI’s needing to be identifable as part of a formation (on a training area or range for example) as well as needing something camouflaged and ok to get filthy, while not having them ‘in uniform’…

the only problem is going to be getting it - if we assume that the changeover for the ACO from DPM to MTP will take 3-4 years or so, we’d have to ask whether CI’s are going to be able to get their hands on servicable, fitting CS95/DPM in 2017 - i fear the answer is going to be ‘no’…

The easiest solution for CIs is CS95 or now MTP trousers, withe the CI polo shirt. And then a smock can be worn if required as PPE on a range or in the field.

This means that walking around a base they will be clearly identifiable as an other civilian who had bought a pair of CS95 trousers.

British Forces PCS Multi Terrain Smock.

ÂŁ91.99

That is a lot of money for a smock, i do hope that it is gold plated…

I always though S95 bottoms with a suitable ATClogo’d polo shirt + ATC logo’d Waterproof fleecey jacket would be ideal for CIs

But this is off topic , Forgive me

:worthy:

I also have a dilemma …

A fellow Land rover club member has offered me some unissued MTP… He has an odd rank slide on his …a pip’n’crown…and he talks posh

but I nailed by flag to the CS95 mast…

but its sooo new…

Not neccessarily i mean you probably wont be able to pick up free CS95’s but you could probably buy them and im gussing they would be pretty cheap at that point aswell

except if, like the last time i did ‘base-training area-base-training area-base’ type farting about, it was snowing… the ACO needs to come up with more than a CI polo shirt to get out of this mess.

DPM/MTP smock with a hi-viz vest with ‘Civilian Staff’ written on it…?

i doubt DPM will exist in 4 years - the ex-service stuff will be wrecked and of limited availability, and the commercial stuff just won’t be being produced. DPM is yesterdays fashion, you just won’t be able to buy it consistantly in the same way you can’t walk into Next and buy some purple crushed velvet flares and a brown crimpolene shirt… nobody wants it, so nobody will produce it.

doubtless you’ll still be able to buy a windproof smock in DPM for £90, but the trousers for £15/shirt for £10/smock for £20 market will have just gone.

The high vis is a Good idea but getting CIs to wear it…well thats the tricky bit
They could have a daygo ‘Civilian Instructor’ rank slide too!

and an armband that says “Civilian Instructor” on it… no wait…

…rings a bell. You may have a point

The armband is really naff though…

Did I mention MTP?

(phew…back on topic  )

Hi guys,

I am wondering how do you wear your shirt, tucked in or out, and also do all the flashes need to be velcroed.
Just heard about the change of CS95 to MTP.

cheers

It is looking like it will be worn in the same manner as CS95.
As for the badging, I’d wait for 1.03 of AP1358C to see what they say.

Can’t understand why some are so excited about MTP. It won’t make you any better at what you do, unless the wearers will now feel the real deal.

Sigmund Freud would have a field day with some ACO members

Heretic!!

How dare you suggest that MTP isn’t absolutely vital to the efficiency of the Corps!

It is our very life blood!

It is our Holy Grail!
