No wearing the lightweight jacket out as they wear smocks in the field without lightweight jackets underneath.
Even in the height of summer? Harsh.
Not a problem course only runs from September until April.

September can still get pretty toasty! If someone told me that I had to wear the smock in the field I would tell them politely to jog on.

Duty rumour but I heard you have to velcro it onto the blanking patches…
I fail to see what that would accomplish - there is no velcro on the face of the blanking plates.

It’s not too bad. Just a smock and a LIFA is quite comfortable with all the zips open (even better with the new pit zips I imagine.) By the time the field phase starts proper in January however, not having a lightweight jacket underneath makes layering much easier.

Have to either put the velcro or the badge on yourself…

I stitched my blue slides and gilt ATC pins onto a DPM backing to see if I could tempt anyone to complain that I’m “Not allowed DPM rank slides!!!”.
I’ll have to do the same with MTP.
But why? That’s such a lot of effort.
I was bored. Fancied winding a few people up.
He’s right.
Yep, looks like it!
Nearly 2 pages worth of incontinence too!
Hey my points have been nothing but complete seriousness for this highly important topic!

Why would you want to velcro the badge to a blanking plate which is then velcrod onto the jacket?

Clearly not working hard enough then!
The primary point of the LW jacket is as a substitute for the field jacket, in hot weather.
Wow. Has this thread not died yet?
Errr, we’ll wear MTP when we are allowed guys. Live with it.

That would be now then
Well, yes.
This is the end of the beginning of the MTP debate
We need new debating points for MTP!
I’m going to start with…
Is there just the one pattern of official MTP or is there theatre colour bias?
I guess I’ve read so many of these comments I have forgotten where we started.
Stick by my point though. Still don’t think it looks good.
At least CS95 gave us and showed others that we are different from regulars. It worked as an identity. Now there will be a mad adoption of wearing it I suppose.
Our OC has said unless everyone has it no one is allowed to wear it on the sqn. Im not going to argue with him as he the boss and what he say goes but no fair. lol
Maybe he thinks that he just wants cadets to save money rather than some go out and buy it. Maybe he has a point.
You know that’s not the reason, he’s clearly decided he doesn’t like the idea of some people in MTP and others in CS95 and has made his own rules.
And I completely argee cadets and their perants do not need to buy the new kit as they have good DPM’s and as you said waste of money and that to cadets in two types of uniform will look missy.
Agreed that this will just highlight the less off cadets
ours is not to question why etc etc but can deffo see problems ahead down the line
