how so differently to blues?

in work, as i type i am wearing suit trousers and a shirt.
no different to blues - suit trousers, with a pressed shirt…

May I ask what your role is in rafac?

He’s a WO that is a lead on the dress guidelines.

I don’t know if this is the case everywhere but I’ve been told a firm ‘no’ to cadets wearing coveralls for ranges or even dry training.

but as of the this month - both are now issued to Cadets - there is little a Cadets needs to invest in other than shoes/boots accordingly.

the argument would only comes from those paying the bills - the RAF/MOD - and how keen would they be to have their own Cadets never in blues?

if that is the case they i would expect the RAF Regulars (and indeed Navy) to be in Greens permanently but they aren’t so there must be reasons for it, and i suspect there is likely to be commonality in those reasons for the CF

Downsides, not reasons.

In the RAF, No.3B (PCS trousers with barrack shirts) has replaced No.2C (working blues) and the RN have RNPCS as their normal working dress.

ok i see where you are going…

…but i suspect one downside could be as weak as “it isn’t smart” or “not office wear” - there will be reasons that offset the “downsides”.

agreed - but the RAF still routinely wear No2A/B and that is the angle i am taking.

if the RAF are wearing Wedgwood blues, then it gives the ATC reason to do the same.

I have a couple of questions who is that actually decides on any big changes to acp1358 and uniform?.

So 1 big one that has been brought up many times is about allowing C.I to wear MTP same as everyone else in particular on camps. I have been on camps of couple hundred cadets and there was only 4xC.I and you have the entire camp in MTP for the entire duration of the camp including the cfavs and then you have 4x C.I to the side in civilian clothes. The whole point of uniform is uniformity and to be together as one. Yet we don’t allow C.Is to wear them even with a C.I rank slide clearly marking who they are. I feel this really excludes them of feeling as part of the same team.

I can’t see any reason why this can’t be allowed especially when they are wearing C.I rank slide so it’s clear they are not an officer or an SNCO. I know we allow MTP worn for fieldcraft and range shooting but it should be allowed more often I think in particular in situations where you have an entire camp in the same uniform and exclude a few C.Is.

Also on another seperate question when did the new TRF come out. i noticed when I ordered some TRF recently they are different without the eagle explicit mistake that was on the previous TRF?

Why not have the Wedgwood shirt as the single shirt?

Worn with or without tie when in jumper.

Without jumper, with tie (ceremonial) or collar undone & sleeves rolled up (working).

Keeps the jumper, keeps the blues, adapts for the cadet org & one less shirt for the raf to buy.

Are Civilian Instructor rank slides legal? I bought some off a website and the OC said to take them off but maybe because I’m still a probationer.

the slides are worn with mtp for likes of fieldcraft and range shooting only but mainly fieldcraft just.

Even then they aren’t uniform, nor are they really needed.

another question i had for you that I couldn’t find an answer for that i was asked. So in relation cadet wearing their lrd lt badge brassard. Once that cadets term of 1 year is finished do they have to stop wearing the badge? for example if there is no other lrd lt cadet serving on the squadron could they continue to wear it until a new one is appointed?

Even then, the shirts still only come in collar sizes, and the trousers and jumper are still horrid. With any other smart uniform, you can choose the material, length of trouser, waist, sleeve length, chest fit, collar size, have a jacket and jumper, quarter zip, just jacket etc etc. Still wouldn’t solve that

Done (hopefully on the right form this time?)

They are allowed/required to wear MTP during Fieldcraft and Shooting as the proscribed PPE for that activity. For them to wear uniform more widely there already is a route, become an SNCO or Officer.

There’s a DPSG Hub on SharePoint with all these questions and answers

But if you can’t access that I’ll take it to DM to prevent thread drift
