So quick question but I think it may be one where you apply common sense to the circumstances.
DPM is being sunsetted as uniform in sept 2028 - that is fine.
DPM water proofs - same restriction or will the still be permitted under the welfare is more important?
DPM ponchos / bivvies used in fieldcraft. Not uniform but equipment (& out of scope??) so assume DPM pattern still okay (along with the plain green)

Yeah common sense wins here, will still be permitted so we don’t kill people. It’s the same in the air force still
I do think we should encourage moving to MTP longer term but if it works today use it

It’s the stock of DPM water proofs we have.
if MTP waterproofs become available for unit stocks then we might be able to start rotating out but it’s the sort of thing I rather have than dispose with no replacement.

Yeah just be pragmatic if something needs replacing aim for MTP but if it’s functional today crack on

I see no reason to swap out bashas/bivvi bags any more than to stop using dpm webbing or bergans.
There are some advantages in cam & concealment for not mixing (the same reason the L85 is now in tan) but for us it is marginal, and irrelevant in shooting and RM.
It’s quite useful to have a DPM or even desert basha for the cam lessons too!

For the record, the ACF have been in MTP as official uniform for around 13 years now, and even we haven’t done anything with our DPM bashas, bivi bags, webbing, bergens or waterproofs. We don’t worry about them being MTP or DPM.

So you’re saying we definitely won’t be getting emails from the RWO about climatic injuries not being a reasonable excuse to break dress regs if we put the darlings in mixed goretex?

My understanding was that ancils could be DPM, but that you couldn’t mix and match (ie, DPM goretex jacket, MTP MVP trousers).
However, if it’s cadet and they only have a DPM waterproof jacket, I wouldn’t really care what colour waterproof trousers there were loaned/ acquired/ borrowed, as long as they kept them dry!

We solve this problem by never issuing trousers. No one wants them.

We used to have that policy road marching. But the powers that be made trousers compulsory. Despite noone ever wearing them.
Oddly, if you didn’t have trousers, you could march if you had two jackets, never quite understood what the second was for, double layer or wear them on your legs?
