Lewis may be the best driver at the front at the minute. I used to like him but he don’t half cry a lot and when he gets back to the pits his female “assistant” is there to wipe his brow and carry his bags, no doubt full of bling. I don’t notice the other drivers on the grid having their bag carrier at their beck and call. She sticks out like a sore thumb. Its just a sport to the rest of us and I’ve loved some of the racing, but some of it has been soooo boring that I’ve fallen asleep watching it. I do hope Max wins this championship :sunglasses:

He’s the championship leader, the most successful and one of the most prominent. He gets the most media attention.

Every driver has a team of people working directly for them. PAs, personal trainers, etc. The only difference with Lewis is he has one of the few women, therefore it stands out.

I really hope Max doesn’t win. His style of racing is far too aggressive and out of touch.

As someone else recently said, he should be lucky he’s racing in this era - if he was racing 20+ years ago he’d already be dead.

They all have their minions, if you watch drive to survive they all have someone carrying an umbrella to keep the sun off etc

I’ve said before that I’m really not a fan of either of them, but between the 2 I’d probably prefer Hamilton, he might be a cry baby but Verstappen is dangerous.

Be interesting if Hamilton won and then retired leaving Mercedes with an empty seat for next year.

Fully aware they all have their minions but she is always right in his face with an ice blower, mopping his brow or carrying all his bags of bling around. The other drivers, I rarely notice their minions and they don’t rock up to the grid in designer clothes and dripping in bling #SponsersPayHisBills. It’s his arrogance and crying “oh my tires” as he sets the fastest lap. I like danger, makes the sport worth watching as long as no one is injured. But next week will be do or die and they both have to make it round, which makes for the possibility of a nail biting finish.

As long as he takes Hamilton with him Verstappen doesn’t need to finish, they are joint on points and he has 1 more race win so an Senna v Prost ramming could win him the Championship.

They all have sponsors, when your No1 you just have more of them willing to spend more money. (They also have limits as to who is allowed to sponsor them and what type of products enforced by the teams.) Like most of them Hamilton’s sponsors are mostly the same ones who sponsor his team. (I don’t begrudge the World number one getting very rich).

I think a lot of that is because they have been together a lot longer, most of the other drivers (except people like Daniel Ricardo who has a childhood friend) their Assistants come and go, whereas Angela has been with Hamilton years, she was his Physio in the UK before she got promoted. (They are apparently really close and have matching tattoos lol).

You see the negatives you want to see in him, because you’ve already got the preconceived notion of who he is.

I don’t think Max is that dirty and I hope it doesn’t come to anything like that. If Max wins then bonus, if HamilBaby wins then there is always next year for one of our brits or max to take hamiltons crown and keep it away from him :grimacing:

Kinda like seeing the bad in Boris cos he’s being an idiot in front of cameras or like Trump telling lies when he breathes on camera. My negative about HamilBaby is just his constant moaning he makes on camera/his radio. I’m sure he’s a really decent chap off camera and does a lot of good things we don’t see. But I am just a fellow username hoping for a new, up and coming winner for the year. I felt the same when Seb was always running off and winning.

Next year is going to be such a fresh start and new game that it’s impossible to guess right now. The tech geek and former engineer in me is fascinated by just how different the cars are going to look, let alone their performance.

Incidentally I was catching up on a bit of Skys coverage from the weekend (Ted’s notebook, always good) and he was recording as Max left the circuit.
Just the 8 in his entourage. Including a guy to carry his bags…

7 time world champion and potentially most famous person on the grid gets more TV time than other, less famous and successful people. More on this breaking story as it happens.

I want to see him win his 8th and really cement his name (as long as Mick doesn’t get any bright ideas about preserving his dads legacy). He does masses for charity, speaks out on issues that he feels the need to speak out on and seems to work hard for what he does. I might not like all of his fashion choices but then again, I’m not the one being dressed by Gucci or Tommy Hilfiger…

Whichever one wins will be a good story
Lewis, 8 time world champion, new record etc
Max, the one who dethroned Lewis.

I’m happy for either one to win as long as it’s a fair race and isn’t decided by one or the running being ran off the road. (As exciting it is to watch sometimes)

100% agree, so much is changing for next season hopefully opening the field up and other teams are more competitive.

Speaking of next season how long do we think it will take George to be challenging Lewis for Wins? I think he’s switched on enough to play the game and be the wingman…. But how long for.

One thing that is for certain the next season of Drive to Survive should be a good one!

He might not be Senna level of dirty but he’s Senna level of dangerous and he will have the advantage that he can drive like an idiot and Lewis will have to back down as Lewis can’t afford to be taken out.

What would he somewhat funny, the lights go out and Bottas rams Hamilton

Even though that is only a thought and lickley won’t happen but what would Mercadies do about as it’s his last race? So the worst that could happen is he gets a couple of points on his Super License.

Even though I don’t hate Hamilton I do hope he doen’t win.

Interesting reminder from the FIA.

Bit of a “play nicely” note

Lando on 3rd makes this interesting

Given that Max Verstappen is now on Pole for Abu Dhabi it means he’s got a very high chance of success given the tracks tough layout for overtaking.

I thought the track had been changed this year? Not sure on the details though.

It has been to make it faster and more exciting, but it’s still like a street circuit.

He’s starting on Softs so the undercut is on.
