Email Signatures

At work we only include name, job title, work landline, work address and if you have one work mobile. Ergo for ATC it’s rank, name, *** Sqn ATC with address and squadron landline with a answerphone note, outside the parade times specified. I have tried to keep ATC business especially phone contact as much as possible to ATC business times, ie parade nights for the last 6/7 years, as I was finding it consuming too much non ATC time. It’s one of the problems of mobile phones, people seem to think you are available all the time.
The people who need to know my mobile are told and these contacts are added and deleted as necessary. At one time I had numbers from people I’d been on camps etc with years previous, most of whom I’d no contact with since that event.
What I don’t understand is why people put the email address they send the email from on an email sig block. If they’ve got several roles, manage things within that role or just use one email address for everything.

Everyone had a little amusing tag line or gif, was a nice bit or personalisation. Ah the golden age.

Just went through the old forum to see if I could find mine but wasnt playing ball…so many throwback to members though on there

I remember that. It was a kickback to when QAIC or QJL became a thing, everyone then added mad quals with the letter Q in front of them to take the Michael. Like QTM (Qualified Tea Maker)

I’d heard there was a 2019 version in circulation, but buggered if I can find it!

Never mind… found it…well, found Part 2 and the templates… can’t seem to find Part 1.

Not many of us left from the old old days :disappointed_relieved:

Many lurked for a long time before committing the time and effort to be on the forum.
We definitely put in our 12 hours a month… just on here.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yeah, I only found part 2 and the templates on defence connect. I’m WFH so no access to full MODnet

What is this hippie nonsense!!?

Right - finally found it!

AP7004, Section 6, Chapter 8, V8.0 Apr 2019 states:

Thank you very much.
I’ll add it to the list along with a whole new version of JSP 101 that I need to review before my course.
I’m glad you mentioned that because nobody tells us anything of this sort officially.

As best I can make out “Part 1” is the templates.

I’m not so sure - the JSP appears to have gone down a similar 2 part route like many others (e.g. JSP907) so I’d expect there to be an amplifying Part 1 (Directive) document which explains and provides links to the templates.

That was my first thought as well, but from scouring Defence Connect I’ve found the following wording used in a number of places:

Some good guidance there:

“Never use two words where one word will do! That’s my motto; that’s my axiom; that’s the way I look at things…”

“I didn’t get where I am today using clichés. Mrs C.J. and I have always avoided using clichés like the plague. A cliché to me is like a red rag to a bull!”
