Death of HM Queen Elizabeth II

We need to have a better representation than we have had this week

A (loose) friend of mine (CCF) is the D1 driver transporting Cadets but thats all i know…

Just mentioned to my other half who just said “yes I told you that was last week - there was event put out on Westminster” so it might well be CCF (RAF) involvement but not ATC (but I’m speculating on that one)

If there’s to be ATC involvement it might have been limited to just the Dacre/centenary sword holders

Even the FANY have had better representation this week, there at the door as HM was brought into the Abbey and I’ve seen them at other parts of the weeks ceremonies.

If anyone wants the order of service

If true, and if the other CFs have greater representation, then heads should roll.

One for the ceremonial nerds; who decides (decided) what roles each service has in such a thing and why?

Technically the Earl Marshal but generally it’s just following tradition on who does what and cause the RAF is so young most of the main ceremonial tasks has already been taken and became part of either the army or the navy’s traditional duties

There does seem to be very little RAF presence - perhaps they’re on the naughty step after all the recruitment stories & sky news articles?

Although it might because the RAF doesn’t work Bank holidays :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think it’s a bit of a shame that it wasn’t a Navy bearer party that lifted the coffin onto the gun carriage. Unless I missed something they’re the only service that didn’t get a go.

Tartan 15 is up over Cambridgeshire/Lincolnshire/Norfolk flying a CAP IFR pattern with I suspect a couple or more of Typhoons with them.

Couple of interesting USAF call signs up too

Pretty sure I one of those is Air Force One? (Or will be once the president gets on!)

Grim 99 which is an E4B is climbing over London and a 757 without a callsign.

Nah, looks like Kneecap - NACP, another modified B747, but an E4B in NATO parlance.

The President wouldn’t normally fly on this unless the brown stuff has fully impaled a cooling implement.

Not sure if anyone else has but I haven’t been able to spot any Cadet Forces Representation so far.

Grim 99 is a Nightwatch aircraft from Offut.

They would have been right at the very back of the parade, I think, so no media coverage.

Edit, wrong way round

I read the bbc guide as suggesting they would be right at the rear of the parade

AF 1 is I think at Stanstead as they moved all the kit from a C17 which landed Mildenhall the other day.
