Coronavirus: what happens next!

No Scotland and Wales use devolution exactly as @incubus suggests make the UK Govt look bad, but without acknowledging how what they do affects people in Scotland and Wales, as long as they make themselves superficially look good.
What happens as and when shops etc can’t function.

The sensible approach with schools is to concentrate on the important years.

So you’re suggesting neither government has any interest in the health or wellbeing of their people?

Which government was it that has slashed public services to the bone over the least ten years disproportionately impacting the disadvantaged in society? Was it the Conservative-led UK government? I think it might have been…

I;ve been watching BBC News prior to the latest announcements.
There are less repeats on Freeview. In about 25 minutes the chimps kept mentioning the same things over and over.

Are you having a laugh?

Which government has a devolved NHS untouchable by Westminster, who’s been privatised more by Sturgeon as Health Minster, but still scaremongers and lies to the Scottish people and uses the Scottish NHS as a political tool?

A failing NHS, with sub par services, a failing and struggling centralised and Ambulance Service, used as a political football and is undermanned and over stretched?

Was it the same government that was given 92 million by Westminster for Brexit preparations, and they kept half of it for their own agenda?
Ah yes. Cheers Sturgeon. Good job. It’s Definately the health of their public they are committed towards… not at all political…

Speaking of being political, can you all calm down again or we’ll shut this thread until you do.

Schools closed from Friday. Makes you wonder how exams are going to work.

At least the Army have confirmed that WhatsApp is “official” for orders!!

Yes, but:

It was posted earlier on this thread that all CFAV courses at RAFAC ATF are off until June 2020 at the earliest.

Do we know whether the Staff at HQRAFAC are already stood-down, >will< be stood-down soon, or will just continue to work on as individuals?

Is HQRAFAC remaining open? Will Rgnl/Wg HQs continue to operate?

Bearing in mind that any RAFR Officers and ORs serving on FTRS TCOS (unless they’re on Limited Commitment engagements) in principle could be retasked at any time, in response to the present emergency…and would be, well in advance of unmobilised RAuxAF members on PTVR terms…

Schools are being asked to stay open just For Kids of key workers to help tackle the struggling NHS.

There’s talk of past year portfolios and prelims being used for grades and/or exams in stages with smaller sets of kids on different days etc.

This stuff always makes me laugh, are they going to pay for our phone contracts then?

I just happen to have a dumb phone… are they going to purchase a smart phone for me?

What if I don’t have the App? What if I don’t want the app?

It will be interesting though. It’s probably through powers given specifically for this situation.

Exams cancelled as well.

That time when your kids were the only ones in school!!! Lol!!!

The current SQA line seems to be that exams will be going on as normal. I’m betting on that changing.

Agreed but that is because of group sizes and reducing the impact of close spaces. When it comes to squadrons, we can go online and continue supporting cadets and keeping them engaged.

We are certainly doing that and putting a focus on how we can still them losing interest and hitting retention.

Our Region/WHQ is still working - I assume remotely!

They don’t really have the capacity or capability to fully work remotely, do they?
Just having a MOD phone/blackberry isn’t cutting it.

I would question whether or not they have full information upon which to base this decision, they don’t sit on COBRA so by making unilateral decisions they may be working against the broad national strategy. Personally during a National Crisis such as this I would want to se the devolved assemblies suspended.

I was under the impression that the CMOs and health ministers of each devolved nation were being teleconferenced in. That’s what I’d do.

Frankly I don’t think the UK government has the capacity to take on responsibility for health in Wales, Scotland and NI overnight.

I could be wrong and I apologise for getting a bit heated, stress levels are high.

As of 1600 today CCF branch were all there and still expecting to be - I rang with a query and chatted for 5 minutes. No plan to close.

Obviously that’s the CCF version of RHQ rather than the core function, but still… same building, different floor.
