This is my friend from cadets/school and even work when we were both at Co-op.

He’s also the second Typhoon Display Pilot from my old ATC Squadron!

outstanding.

while i need more than 2 hands to count the number of Cadets i know (from a multitude of Squadrons/Wings) who have joined up, i know only one pilot (multi-engine).

to have two fast jet pilots in a Squadron “alumni” is impressive, even more so at the “top of their game” to be display pilots!

There’s something in the water I reckon. We’ve got those two, (Nathan was also one of the last ever Tornado Pilots) and I can immediately think of a multi engine pilot, and I think a rotary as well.

This needs to be sung from HQAC.

Not only the ATC to RAF transition, but also that one squadron has provided such characters.

Someone with the appropriate connection should suggest HQAC make him an ambassador.

I would have thought most of the display pilots (inc the Reds) are ex ATC /CCF …with fewer and fewer numbers the percentage is definately above what is was when I were a lad!

of the RAFAT
Wg Cdr Collins - CCF
Sqn Ldr McCann (Red4) - 2050 (Leyland) ATC
Flt Lt Wales (Red5) - 1409 (Consett) ATC
Sqn Ldr Handsford (Red6) - CCF
Flt Lt Suckling (Red9) - CCF
Sqn Ldr Muscat (Red10) - 1074 (Ellesmere Port) Sqn

Most were also part of UAS

I saw on Facebook that GM wing have had a Coronation medal presentation evening for their staff. Looks like a fair few medals were handed out!

That sounds nice. We all had to go to a local Squadron, walk into a room with the wing co in it, sign and leave.
He managed to enter the building without speaking to the unit staff too. Standard people avoidance.

Disgusting if not contemptible.

Not sure who the team are - but the media team of the Nijmegen March are obviously very proud of them!

Central and East Yorkshire Wing (and probably wider than that) had a fantastic Chinook flying day at RAF Leeming yesterday.

Some of mine (and a member of staff) got up and they’re so hyped. It’s wonderful.

My sincerest thanks go to the RC, TSA, WAvO, and other staff who came together to make that happen.

Amazing work and all done against the clock. I’m so happy all their hard work was rewarded with good weather.
