Brexit

Watching some of the developments at the playgroup… it got me thinking IF there was a GE who would win:thinking::thinking::thinking:

The Tories have really fallen foul but given Boris is wanting out and quickly could he pull it off and win

Labour have not really been giving clear and consistent information on what they are planning doing unless it is in relation to JC being PM. I think they have lost the vote of their traditional voters now

The brexit party I think in the labour strong holds they will take labour seats, I cannot see many labour leave voters going Tory so they are the next thing

In Scotland I am Afraid to say I think some people will Clamour to the SNP which is a party more destructive to the uk and Scotland as a whole.

Greens are a protest party I think will pick up
Votes but not enough

LibDem I left them to last, now they have been consistent in opposition to brexit could they maybe perhaps be the winners with the tories and brexit party splitting the leave vote and labour being inconsistent COULD this be the chance for the libDems to slip in and win

It could be an interesting election…

Well, as of this evening’s shenanigans in Parliament, all bets are off (or are they on?).

They’ve done exactly what Boris wanted them to do and Phillip Lee is mental, he’s got a majority on his seat of 28.7% , sits in area that massively voted leave and has walked away to the LibDems with a General Election on the horizon, it’s almost like he doesn’t want to be an MP!

In this mess, and with little hope of it getting any easier, perhaps that’s his plan…

Either that or the Lib Dems are going to stand him in a pro-remain area? It’s the only thing that makes sense.

TBH there are a lot MPs across the board in constituencies that voted Leave and not done as instructed and supported this as it isn’t what they as individuals want and they will have to look for a proper job somewhere.
When we have a GE we will get probably the weakest government in British history made up of all sorts of mad couplings.

I’ll still vote the way I have all my adult life as since coming to majority I haven’t and still don’t see the others worthy of my cross.

i think that is an unfair generalisation - the UK electorate were given a leave or remain option. since then there has been a parliamentary discussion/debate about how we leave with/out a deal.

a constituency can be “leave” and the MP on that side, but against a “No deal” exit…
the electorate have not been given that decision so hard to say any MP is with/against the electorate’s view when their view has not been sought…

you’d think - but his voting has been pro-leave based on his voting in the commons (see link) They work for you or at least anti-EU.
It would need more info on his view point but from this basic data doesn’t appear to be a “remainer” or indeed a solid “Liberal” in his views Lib Dem loses Members as Dr Lee Joins

I call Bolderdash Giminion, BMW VW Audi Citoren Renault etc love to sell car to us and they are in competition with each other. We will also be able to buy a ‘Tariff-free’ car from Japan now.

Add in Frech German Spanish and Italian farners, just wait for the French to start rioting, oooops they already are though.

out of interest is this actually true?

given Nissan and Honda have plants in the UK (and thus EU) is it a bit ironic to have tariffs on cars which boost the UK (EU) economy* simply because the HQ office is in Tokyo?

Or is my ignorance bliss and not as simply as that?

*and by this I don’t just mean a plant with several 100 employees but the smaller parts manufactures, transport and haulage industry surrounding the incoming parts and outgoing finished components…all dependant on the central plant for business
(sorry for the thread drift, happy to take this to PM if it doesn’t help expand the discussion)

Gina Miller vs the Prime Minister - a judicial review hearing into the decision to prorogue Parliament - will be heard in Court 4 at the Royal Courts of Justice on Thurs 05 Sep 2019, starting at 1000 hrs.

Nissan’s true HQ is in France as they are part of PSA, same as Vauxhall.

So how many of the MPs voted in a similar fashion to their constituencies did in 2016!!

Yeah, see… I was using the car as a metaphor for a trade agreement…

ok great, that doesn’t answer my question though…

Therefore they an eu company therefore subject to tariffs.

There is something that has concerned me since this woman came on the scene. She has made a ton of money through deals in the EU. Now she is finding that she may have her activities cut back she is challenging everything in court.

People batter on about money and how politicians look after their mates but this woman is the shinning example of where our system is wrong.
She lost her point of view in an election now she is trying to change it via the courts and her money. Fast forward to after the next election and someone decided to follow suit and challenge the election result where will we end up??
I think this is a dangerous and slippery slope we are on…

Or is it not an example of the rule of law and the right to challenge the government in court. She was correct last time. If she’s correct this time good for her and if not (which is more likely) then everything carries on as normal.

The Ironic thing is that her winning last time is the reason we are in the position we are in now.

She’s shrieking about No Deal, but if she hadn’t gone to Court we would have left with May’s Deal by now.

Makes me laugh

Johnson says no GE but is now snookered so offering one
Corbyn saying for 3 years we need a GE but won’t vote for one

If it was a script for The Thick of It or Yes Minister would never get through 1st read through as would be too ridiculous…….
