Yeas as @ash has said, not data is going “through google” or out onto the wider internet.
you have to log into Volunteer Portal before the extension can access any data.
This would be an incredible feature once bidding has been completed!

Then it works as a single workflow for the whole organisation, with many individuals able to respond to anonymised submissions.
So first port of call is wing.

Option 1, grant squadron level award with wing commander’s compliments.

Option 2, email wing commendation with wing commander’s signature.

Option 3, elevate to region.
If something gets all the way to the top and we think it needs to go beyond the org, we can request further information and do a proper H&A submission.
No more clunky portals, no more verbose citation writing, not worrying about different awards, which is most appropriate or whether the mark has been met.
One submission, nominations fall out roughly where they should, lots of cadets nominated (and staff!)

never manually create a cert again, generate and print all types od certs, download all to add to SMS….
ordering badges seems to be a region thing and a pain for sure! but if you get a random badge you can see who go what qual in the last xx days.

As much as it’s awesome and a very useful tool, and the last thing I want is to be overly negative… my immediate reaction would be about data security - the SyOps can get very funny about software etc that processes cadet data off Bader and I’m not certain where this would stand depending on exactly what it’s processing or how it’s set up.
It’s almost certainly against the SyOp policy. Even if it’s completely local, as you say, any processing of cadet data is not really allowed outside of Bader.
But it’s a pretty neat thing. And let’s remember, cadet portal started as a CFAV thing exactly like this…
it is all on bader. Similar to the post above, chrome or safari extension and pulls from VP so nothing downloaded locally etc. uses your VP permisions.
Your problem is a normal user can’t really go through the code and verify that it’s actually doing that. This could easily be data scraping and sending data elsewhere. And thus, this sort of thing is likely very not allowed.
