From my experience, I would never give them the name ‘Helpdesk’, ‘Desk’ is more appropriate!
None of this is helpful - without an idea of what is happening, we cannot diagnose and fix quickly.
Fed that back to them.
They can also use the feedback function in Cadet Portal if they believe something is broken or isn’t right.
Only if they list your occupation. It’s a bit like the list for insuring the car and you have to choose the nearest you can get 🤦
The help desk isn’t your only means of support. Try your wing BISO too. bader.wing@rafac.mod.gov.uk. There is also a Teams group that people ask questions in when they’ve seen no response from other means. The help desk does have someone working there now I believe, so be patient. If you’ve not got a response after a week, email again. Things do get missed, we’re all human. Not defending the help desk as much as reminding there are always other means.
Getting an awful lot of
“Invalid date” on volunteer portal under ‘my event attendance’.
Posting here as contacting bader helpdesk might as well wait for hell to freeze.
My wing what?
Also…
Under the new job thingy.
My adj works for the CS in dept for transport…
She is neither an ‘administrator’ nor a ‘fast track’, dont the CS have grades or something?
There should be options like CS- principle, CS, director, CS higher executive officer…
Etc etc
Bader Information Systems Officer. Pretty sure that’s the new thing.
I see SMS now has a marker for cadets for medical conditions, but no way to view cadets’ record if they’re outside your unit. Is this just a reminder to expect TG23s? Surely it makes more sense to see their record directly? (@james_elliott)
Little red first aid boxes have appeared next to entries on both staff and cadets for events.
However I can’t drill down to view that info.
Great minds think alike
To add, I can’t view as the activity director / AIC or using a Wing account.
It is a flag to indicate that person has some kind of medical condition so you can expect a TG23 and have a conversation with them about what their needs are.
This is a compromise to allow event organisers to know there are people attending with medical conditions without breaching that persons private medical data.
Not going to lie I’m pretty unhappy about this change. It’s not for everyone to know if I have a listed medical condition. I can agree that the AIC should be able to see a flag, but not every member of staff that takes a look. I agree it’s better that it isn’t showing a specific condition, but still might raise questions that I’d rather not answer.
On the other hand, if I - as activity IC - am the only person aware that someone has a condition and I’m not available for whatever reason at the time that condition becomes pertinent, we’d probably all wish that my other DS were also aware…
But that would form part of your staffing brief when you run an event. As it is now, if someone comes to you with a TG 23 you will discuss this with those who need to know. No one more.
In which case, what difference does it make it I tell all the DS versus them finding out via SMS?
Because currently I can see all the flags for any event my unit is invited too. And if I’m listed as a member of staff on an event, then any member of staff from any squadron invited can see the flag next to my name…
