Fixed that for you
Not 100% sure, but basically these newbies are using the trg school route merely to āopen up their licence.ā If they are planning to move onto a commercial aircraft, then I think they only need to maintain their annual test / instrument rating - but a very bold person to try & renew that 'cold" without any prior practice sessions.
Can we get a thread split for Pilot Training v ACPS 2020 Cancelled
Just seen on LinkedIn L3s NZ operation have gone bust and a large chunk of hampshire based colleagues have been made redundantā¦people commenting they think the end is nigh for Atpl training through them and just a focus on type raitings
such a shame if true as they really tarnished the old CTC Name. Yes, I was one of those āMoronsā with too much money - but 10 years ago it was certainly an easier route into the RHS if you were Integrated than modular. Nowadays Iād agree Modular is the way to go, but thatās partly because Iām a modular instructor and am more aware of the pathway - You just need a lot more self discipline to complete the ATPL TKs.
I know they were looking at closing the NZ site due to the apparent downturn in training numbers (despite the strong push from the marketing teams). Still a shame as 10yrs ago the clearways and Hamilton facilities were 2nd to noneā¦ and much better flying out there (also comparable to the UK) compared to FL or AZ.
Maybe we should split the thread
Doubt it. Not while they have a very lucrative contract to teach the RAF multi-engine courses!
despite them contracting out some of the ME phase to Leading edge and Skyborne?
Money still goes in L3ās pocket first!
One of my CIs probably taught you then
Sadly even modular is prohibitively expensive for most people. While the rich boys continue to fund it, it will never change in my opinion.
Itās taken me 12 years of saving to be in the ball park to pay for it thr majority of it
IBN 55 = Update on the Continued Suspension of Air Cadet Pilot Scholarship (ACPS) and FY21/22 Application Procedure
Whilst not the RAFAC scholarships - you may want to advertise to your keen cadets that The Honourable Company of Air Pilots Flying & Gliding Scholarship Applications are open.
You think after everything moving online theyād have waived the requirement to travel to London for the interview
The trip to London might not actually be legal to do if we are in different tiers in Aprilā¦
Iād say its a copy and paste from a previous year (with Dates Changed) as it still references EASA FCL for the Flying Instructor Scholarship
(Although I guess till we re-publish our guidance its the closest thing we have)
Everything else aside given how things are and likely to be, would anyone be able to complete in the timeframe
Maybe if awarded theyāll be more lenient? I donāt knowā¦
Iāve asked them.
