ACP 1358 - New Dress Regs

What the eyes dont see, shouldn’t upset the WO

Well, my eyes can’t see my tie, or lack of…

(Personally I wear a tie. But then I wear one all day at work, so it’s not much of a hardship.)

Ties with V neck definitely yes, ties with high neck no tie simples

Estimates on the time scale for this to be published to cadet portal?

@Ben_Wakefield

Can Lord Lieutenants Cadets wear the SD cap when in No1’s or has that changed?

You mean LLC in No1s have been wearing a beret

Not as far as I know, but further up it quoted cadets may only wear a beret. I wondered if it had changed and LLC were subject of the same rules.

Nope

Para 203 part D says No 1SD with Airmans Cap

Thanks. I no longer have access to Bader so cannot see the new regs.

Tbh i think they should just scrap the female dress regs and have everyone in trousers

A lot of female cadets I’ve seen now do opt for the “male” option. Always thought it was a bit silly to classify uniform as “male” or “female” and am waiting on the day we go gender neutral.

I enjoyed it when someone challenged CASWO on SM about it … “weather gets cold not formal, why do we need to wear a tie!?”

IMHO the round neck jumper looks smart like that.
I always wear a short sleeved shirt under mine

I had to wear a beret for a month or so when I was first commissioned - the RAF were making a special, huge, SD cap for me ! :grinning:

It also gives HQ carte blanche to change anything…
Be afraid… be very afraid !!

Not quite…ammendments still go through WO RAF & the RAF Dress Policy Committee.

Do you know the reason/benefits for changing it to an ACP rather than AP?

Fewer rungs of committees to go through if amendments needed.

Yeah this… less hoops. Were bottom of the food chain so arent the priority so can be sat there for months waiting for policy to be signed off
