The whole VA response was very much tinged with the scent of disdain at giving anything to a volunteer. The quoted sentence is a horrible thing to have said and completely ignorant of the personal costs.
Might as well have put a meme of “are you even a volunteer if you don’t do it for free?”

Procure centrally, chargeback to units requesting the assets. This is pretty simple.
Wifi is one thing, but will that include broadband costs!!
You don’t have to supply everything in a single financial year, therefore spreading the cost over several years!!!

Maybe that’s what he meant, but in the context of “we need reduce how much this costs us” doesn’t quite mesh with what was said.
It’s also a management and policy issue. You could add extra strings. I don’t think it’s wrong to have ditched the monthly hours, but you could add that type of hurdle back in to the mix for claiming above a certain number of days. There is no obligation to pay above the stated allowance, so it’s not as controversial to add extra requirements onto those extra claims.
am concerned that the new syllabus is focused to the ATC an ignores the CCF. How will the syllabus work for cadets who are going to get 10 GCSEs at grades 9, 8, and 7 and for whom BTec is a dirty word (yes really)?
Are ATC cadets not capable of this? Are CCF cadets guaranteed this?

Oh wow. So we went from 600 GSs to 200. Each GS lost added 13 first flights.
So we lost 400 GSs and gained 5200 new cadets flown per year.
It’s unfortunate that no one at Sleaford Tech is asking whether any cadets actually want this, long before whether they can do it…

My concern is actually that my Cadets don’t want to sit in a classroom - they have been in there all day.
We have maybe 40 parades a year, compared to ATC having up to 100 parades.
This new syllabus needs to take account of that.
I swear some of this presenting could put an insomniac to sleep.
